THE CALL SHE ALMOST DIDN'T ANSWER
At 10:47 p.m., her phone rang.
She looked at the screen.
It was an unknown number.
Normally, she would ignore it, but something made her pick up.
“Hello?”
There was silence for a few seconds.
Then a familiar voice said,
“Are you okay?”
She froze.
“I’m fine,” she replied quickly.
But the person on the other end wasn't convinced.
“You don't sound fine.”
She laughed softly.
“I said I'm fine.”
The truth was, she wasn't.
That evening, she had cried for almost an hour.
She was tired of struggling.
Tired of trying to figure everything out.
Tired of telling people, “I'm okay,” when deep down, she was falling apart.
There was a long silence on the phone.
Then the voice said,
“You know you don't always have to be strong, right?”
Those words broke something inside her.
She started crying.
Not the quiet tears she had become used to.
She cried like someone who had been holding everything in for too long.
“I’m tired,” she finally said.
“I know,” the person replied.
“But you won't be here forever.”
She wiped her tears.
“What if things never change?”
The answer came gently:
“Then don't give up before you see what tomorrow brings.”
That night, she prayed differently.
She didn't ask God for everything to change immediately.
She simply said,
“God, please give me strength for tomorrow.”
And tomorrow came.
It wasn't perfect.
But she made it through.
Then another tomorrow came.
And another.
Until one day, she looked back and realized that the season she thought would destroy her had actually taught her how strong her faith could become.
Sometimes, the miracle isn't that everything changes overnight.
Sometimes, the miracle is that you find the strength to keep going until things change.
So if you're reading this while quietly fighting a battle nobody knows about…
Please hold on.
Don't make a permanent decision because of a temporary season.
There is still more to your story. ❤️
