There is always a call in life — the call to show up!
Let me tell you a story.
A few years ago, I attended a community program that encouraged young people to share their ideas. I wasn’t the most talented, neither did I feel completely ready. I looked around and saw people who seemed smarter, more confident, and far more experienced than I was. Part of me wanted to stay back, but something whispered, “Just show up.”
So, I did.
When my turn came, I spoke — trembling at first, but determined. Afterward, one of the organizers approached me and said, “I admire how you always show up.” Those words stuck with me. They reminded me that success doesn’t always come to those who have it all figured out; it often comes to those who keep showing up — despite fear, doubt, or weakness.
You see, talent is good, skill is valuable, but consistency is powerful.
You may not have all the answers, but if you keep showing up to learn, to grow, and to try again, life will meet you halfway.
In spite of the insults, show up.
In spite of the feelings of inadequacy, show up.
Even when they laugh at you, show up.
You never know who’s watching. You never know whose faith your courage will ignite. I later found out that some students around me were inspired — not because I was perfect, but because I refused to quit.
So when the crowd steps back, step forward.
When others give excuses, give effort.
When everyone else refuses to show up, be the one who does.
Because at the end of the day, the world remembers not those who talked about change, but those who showed up and made it happen.
