SABIGANNA ACCEPTS APPOINTMENT AS ROYAL PATRON OF FUNATO

Iganna Kingdom: His Royal Majesty, Oba Saliu Oyemonla Tella Azeez Agunloye IV, Ayefemiloye I, the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, has formally accepted his appointment as the Royal Patron of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO).

In a letter dated August 27, 2026, addressed to the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Babayemi Olaniyi Jacob, the monarch expressed deep appreciation to the university management for the confidence and honour bestowed upon him.

Kabiyesi described the appointment as not merely an honour but a call to greater responsibility, service and commitment to the ideals and aspirations of the emerging university.

The Sabiganna pledged to contribute meaningfully to the growth of FUNATO, support its programmes and initiatives, and strengthen the relationship between the university, traditional institutions and communities across Oke-Ogun.

He further expressed his commitment to promoting academic excellence, innovation, community development and youth empowerment, while thanking the university community for finding him worthy of the distinguished responsibility.

FUNATO APPOINTS SABIGANNA AS PIONEER ROYAL PATRON

Iganna Kingdom: In another remarkable recognition of his leadership and commitment to community development, His Royal Majesty, Oba (Diamond) Saliu Oyemonla Tella Azeez Agunloye IV, the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, has been appointed the Pioneer Royal Patron of the Federal University of Agriculture and Technology, Okeho (FUNATO).

The appointment was announced during a courtesy visit by the Vice-Chancellor of FUNATO, Professor Babayemi Olaniyi Jacob, to the Sabiganna Palace.

According to the Vice-Chancellor, the honour recognises Kabiyesi’s outstanding support for education, rural development, youth advancement and the socio-economic growth of Oke-Ogun.

The appointment is also expected to further strengthen the relationship between Iganna and Okeho, while promoting greater collaboration between the traditional institution, the university and other stakeholders across Oke-Ogun.

The University described the appointment as a fitting recognition of the monarch’s exemplary leadership and unwavering commitment to the development of education and the wider community.

Congratulations to His Royal Majesty, the Sabiganna of Iganna Kingdom, on this well-deserved honour.
