WELCOME TO TOTOTA ๐Ÿ‡ฑ๐Ÿ‡ท
Totota is a beautiful and vibrant community in Liberia, filled with hardworking people, colorful markets, and a spirit that makes you feel at home. Passing through, you can immediately feel the heartbeat of the town.

But Totota also carries a painful memory.
On December 26, 2023, a trรฃgedy strรผck that shook the entire nation. A fuel tanker overturned near the community and began to leak gasoline. Out of desperation and survival, many residents, young and old, rushed to collect the fuel. In just a moment, the unimaginable happened, the tanker รชxpl0ded.

The fire claimed the lives of over 50 people instantly and left over 100 injured, families broken, dreams cut short. It was the day after Christmas, a time meant for joy, but it turned into a black December for Totota.

This is not just a story of trรฆgedy, but also of lessons. It reminds us of the urgent need for safety awareness and for governments and communities to put measures in place to prevent such disasters. It reminds us of how poverty and desperation can push people to take dรฆdly risks.

Totota, your grief is shared. Your resilience in still standing, trading, smiling, and moving forward after such pain is proof of the strength of the Liberian spirit.

Imagine celebrating Christmas with loved ones, and the next day watching an entire community turned into ashes by fire. It is truly one of lifeโ€™s bitter ironies, a tragecomedy we must never forget.

May the souls of the departed continue to rest in peace. May their memory push us to value life, safety, and compassion for one another.

*A Growing Moral Challenge Among Secondary School Girls*

A disturbing incident recently occurred in a secondary school that calls for the urgent attention of parents and society at large.

A female student in SS2 committed an offense that led her teacher to discipline her. During the process, blood was unexpectedly seen dripping from her arm. She was taken to the principalโ€™s office, where she was asked to remove her shirt.

To everyoneโ€™s shock, it was discovered that the bleeding came from an implant device lodged in her upper arm.

The implant, medically known as a contraceptive device, is designed to prevent pregnancy during sexual in*******se. Once inserted, it can remain in the body for up to three years.

Upon questioning, the student confessed that she was not the only one carrying the device. A school-wide investigation revealed that at least 40 female students were found with similar implants.

This raises critical questions:

What business does a girl under the age of 17 have with such a device?

How did these secondary school students gain access to it?

What is the role of medical practitioners inserting such devices into minors?

The implications are alarming. If left unchecked, this trend threatens the moral upbringing of children and the future of our society. Parents cannot afford to remain silent.

The Role of Parents and Society

Parents have a divine and moral duty to nurture, monitor, and guide their children. Failure to do so not only leads to societal decay but also carries accountability before God.
Equally concerning is the role of health workers who administer such implants to underage girls. By doing so, they indirectly promote immorality and compromise the values of the younger generation.

Way Forward
Parents must intensify close monitoring of their children, both at home and in school.
Open communication between parents and children on moral, religious, and social issues must be prioritized.

Ble is the heartbeat of agriculture in Cote D'Ivoire. As I ride through, I can feel it, the spirit of farming is in the soil, in the air, and in the hands of the people. This land reminds me so much of home in Nigeria, where farming isnโ€™t just work, itโ€™s life itself. Africa is truly blessed with fertile lands; we just need to value them, work them, and feed ourselves and the world. ๐ŸŒ

My plan was to eat right here in Blรฉ, but I stopped by a roadside food canteen and asked for the price of a plate. The woman smiled and said 2,000 CFA. #5450 Naira.
Thatโ€™s when the Naira spirit of conversion entered me ๐Ÿฅน. My brain quickly started running exchange rates, and the numbers werenโ€™t smiling back.
I just laughed and quietly told myself, โ€œOmo, this food go too chop my t money o and I'll have to eat dinner again, so I greeted them, sipped water, and kept riding.
