ALLEGED TENSION REPORTED BETWEEN YEGHE AND UEGWERE BO-UE COMMUNITIES

Reports circulating from parts of Ogoniland allege renewed tension between Yeghe community in Gokana LGA and Uegwere Bo-ue community over a longstanding land dispute.

According to claims shared by residents, three women were allegedly taken while returning from farms on Thursday, May 28, 2026. There are also unverified reports of attacks, abductions, and rising insecurity in the affected areas.

Community members are calling on security agencies, the Khana and Gokana Local Government authorities, and relevant stakeholders to urgently investigate the situation and ensure peace and safety for residents.

It was gathered that efforts had previously been made by local government officials and community leaders to promote peace, but concerns remain among residents over the reported tensions.
