At about 11:40 p.m. yesterday, I went to a filling station behind Abraham Adesanya. My friend stepped out to buy fuel while I remained in the car with my brother. Shortly after, a korope without a plate number parked in front of us. I became frightened when I saw the occupants holding guns, as I initially thought they were kidnappers.
They ordered us to get out of the car and began searching me. My brother was asked to open the boot, but nothing incriminating was found. When they attempted to search my brother, he questioned why they would do so without his consent. The commander then instructed the officers to search him anyway. They emptied his pockets and I started recording the incident.
When they noticed I was recording, one of them struck me in the mouth and the six officers pounced on me, dragged and asaulted me. They seized my phone, took everything from my brother's pockets, entered the korope and drove away.
My brother and I pursued them and caught up with them at Abraham Adesanya, where another group of police officers was conducting vehicle searches. The officers who asaulted us parked among them. I stepped out to report the incident but the officers on duty insulted me and said they could not arrest their boss. The same six officers then came down and assaulted me again.
We proceeded to Ajah Police Station to report the incident, and officers were assigned to follow us back to the scene. However, when the suspects were invited to the station, they refused to comply. We returned to Ajah Police Station and were informed that the officers were from Elemoro.
We then went to Elemoro Police Station, where we met CSP Gbolahan. He attended to us professionally, took us to the hospital, and paid for our medical bills. He also ensured that the officers involved were arresteď -Ijoba Lande
