Africa Day Celebration 2024: A Vibrant Showcase of African Culture
Abuja, Nigeria - The Africa Day 2024 Celebration featured a special session with African Youths and Students held at the Brazilian embassy, CBD, Abuja on 24th of May 2024, it was a resounding success, showcasing the rich Cultural heritage of Africa. Immediately after the opening speech by the convener, Hon. Quadri-adu Kehinde, President, Afro-Caribbean Chamber of Culture and Tourism (ACCCAT), the event featured a keynote address delivered by Ambassador (Princess) Adesuwa Obaseki, she delved on the topic "Africa Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow”.
In her submission, she said that, Africa, a continent rich in history and diverse Cultures has undergone profound transformations from its ancient civilizations to the modern era, with promising prospects for the future. Yesterday, today and tomorrow.
She further mentioned that, Africa's journey reflects its resilience, potential, and the dynamic interplay of its challenges and opportunities.
A special training on deployment of artificial intelligence and Robotic engineering was delivered by Fadele Abiodun Samson.There are other speeches by Ambassadors of some countries in Nigeria, they include, Brazil, Burundi, Trinidad and Tobago, China and UNESCO. The Chairman of Yoruba Community Abuja, Otunba Hakeem Adetunji equally graced the occasion .
The celebration continued on the morning of 25th of May 2024 with a Liberation Walk around some selected routes within the Abuja metropolis. Diplomatic Dinner was later hosted at Korea Cultural Center, CBD, Abuja, the Korean Ambassador who hosted the evening spoke extensively about the need for Africa and South Korea to come together in the area of Trade and Culture.
He later rolled out his future program for Nigeria and of course, his Country plan for Africa. Kabiyeesi Obaru Adimula emphasized on the importance of Cultural exchange and collaboration in promoting peace and development.
His speech resonated with the audience, inspiring hope and unity among Africans and Koreans alike.
Amazing goodwill messages poured in, Princess Modupe Nwodi, a former Presidential aspirant shed more light on inclusion of Women in the developmental agenda of Africa.
The two days event was well attended by diplomats, top government functionaries, Students of Secondary Schools, Corp members and notable stakeholders from Culture and Tourism industry. It featured a range of activities, including music, dance, and Art performances, showcasing the diversity and richness of African Culture, adding to the vibrancy of the celebration.
