Learners also gain hands-on experience developing solutions such as smart irrigation systems and solar-powered projects.

The initiative aims to close Tanzania’s digital skills gap by giving young people access to computers, internet connectivity, mentorship and practical training.

Angola’s leading mobile operator, Unitel, has fully restored its core mobile services after a targeted cyberattack on July 28 disrupted voice, messaging, mobile data and internet services for more than 21 million subscribers.

The company confirmed that services were fully restored on August 5, following a phased recovery that began the next day. The attack occurred less than 24 hours before UNITEL’s IPO, which proceeded as scheduled and raised about $321–329 million for a 15% stake.

UNITEL is continuing system monitoring and optimisation while working with authorities and cybersecurity partners to investigate the attack. The operator has not disclosed the method or perpetrators as investigations continue.

Since its full rollout in July 2026, eKash has enabled instant, interoperable transfers between bank accounts and mobile wallets at low, flat costs. The platform supports account-to-account, account-to-wallet and wallet-to-wallet payments, helping simplify digital transactions.

The campaign aims to boost public confidence and adoption while advancing Rwanda’s cashless economy and financial inclusion goals.

NITDA and the Budget Office of the Federation have inaugurated a Joint Technical Committee on the National Sovereign Cloud Initiative (JTC-NSCI) to address financing, procurement, infrastructure investment and implementation.

The committee, co-chaired by Tanimu Yakubu and Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, will examine government cloud spending, investment mobilisation and the long-term cost of domestic cloud infrastructure. The move shifts Nigeria’s sovereign cloud agenda from policy development toward practical ex*****on and sustainable funding.

Under Nigeria’s National Cloud Policy 2025, federal institutions are expected to adopt a Cloud First approach, with a 75% cloud-adoption target by 2030.
