NELSON BROWN's CITATION
-
Nelson Brown, renowned as a prominent figure in the Nigerian music scene, was born on the 27th of August, 1971, in Lagos, originating from the Isoko community of Delta State. Married to Mary Brown and father to Isabella and Richard Brown, his educational journey began at Anglican Primary School, and followed by Randle Secondary School, both in Ajegunle Apapa from 1977 to 1988.
Brown's musical odyssey began in 1985 during secondary school, where he developed proficiency in playing instruments like the keyboard, guitar, and drums at Ajegunle's Bible Life Church under the mentorship of Bishop Leonard Umunna. Unbeknownst to him, God was preparing Brown to become a renowned music producer in Nigeria.
His professional career started in 1990 at an Analog studio, and in 1992, he joined AGOS DIGITAL STUDIO as a jingle producer. The turning point occurred in 1992 when Brown co-produced Daddy Fresh's "Come Again," marking the initiation of his journey as a music producer. Over the years, he has significantly contributed to the industry, co-producing notable albums such as Daddy Showkey's "Welcome" in 1994, Daddy Fresh's "Fakafikifaka" in 1995, and Baba Fryo's "Denge Pose" in 1996.
By the year 2000, Brown had solidified his status in the industry, winning many awards and releasing significant projects, including the Plantashun Boiz's first album on his record label, Dove Entertainment Limited. In 2002, he proudly released Sound Sultan's "Jagbajantis" and Flekatman's "E Don Red", full albums; followed by the Plantashun Boiz's second album titled "Sold Out" in 2004. This journey has seen Brown produce over one hundred hit songs and more than fifty albums, a testament to God's grace in his career.
