Ex-Super Eagles star Victor Anichebe set to purchase English Football Club

Former Nigeria international Victor Anichebe is leading a takeover bid for English Football League (EFL) division three club Bromley.

Anichebe, who featured for Everton and West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League, is spearheading discussions to buy the newly-promoted League One side in a major boardroom coup.

Bromley’s current majority owner Robin Stanton-Gleaves is locked in ongoing talks with the 38-year-old former Nigeria international.

The South London outfit are preparing for their first-ever season in English football’s third tier after two promotions in three years, and club bosses know they need a serious cash injection to compete at the higher level.

Anichebe spent over a decade plying his trade at the top level of English football. The powerhouse forward bagged 27 Premier League goals during top-flight spells with Everton, West Brom, and Sunderland.

Now, the former striker is making waves in the business world as owner of the Lumira Group. He recently backed a £20 million proposal for a massive new leisure development near Liverpool, proving funding will be no barrier as he looks to seal the Bromley deal.

A member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Sekona, Ede South Local Government Area, Abideen Oyetunde, narrowly escaped an assassination attempt on Sunday evening after he was allegedly attacked by suspected Accord Party political thugs.

Oyetunde was reportedly attacked at his residence in Sekona, where he was brutally macheted and shot before managing to escape with severe head injuries and a gunshot wound.

Recounting his ordeal in a viral video recorded at an undisclosed hospital in Ede, Oyetunde said the attackers stormed his residence at about 6:00 p.m. armed with guns and machetes.

According to him, "They invaded my residence with dangerous weapons to kill me. When they sighted me, Abbey, popularly known as Monranmo, struck my head with a machete. At a point, I became unconscious, and they probably believed I was already dead. I regained consciousness when I got to the hospital.

"I saw Taofiki, popularly known as Omo Baba Monye, Ojo Jasper, Sodiki Saibu, Asimi Baraka, and Alaga Mighty, among others, whom I know to be notable Accord Party members."

He is currently receiving treatment at an undisclosed hospital in the state.

Veteran Nigerian Juju and Highlife musician Iyun Janet Oluwatoyosi Ajilore, widely known as Saint Janet, has d+ed following a brief illness.

The celebrated entertainer reportedly passed away on Saturday, marking the end of a career that made her a familiar face in Nigeria’s live music scene. She was admired for her energetic performances, lively stage presence and unique ability to entertain audiences with music, humour and social commentary.

Her d+ath was announced on Sunday by publisher and socialite Otunba Femi Davies, who shared the news in a Facebook post. Confirming her passing, he described Saint Janet as a popular Juju and Highlife artiste whose vibrant performances and socially expressive party songs earned her widespread recognition.

I Was a Dollar Millionaire at 30, But by 35 I Was Working as a Labourer — Businessman Farooq Oreagba Shares Lessons on Wealth and Healthy Living.........

Cancer survivor and businessman Farooq Oreagba, popularly known as “Mr. Steeze” after his viral appearance at the 2024 Ojude Oba Festival, has opened up on his journey from wealth to hardship, saying his experiences changed his view of money, success and life.

Speaking on The Black Table with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, Oreagba challenged society’s obsession with material wealth.

Reflecting on his past, he revealed: “I was a dollar millionaire at 30. At 35, I was working as a labourer in England.”

Oreagba explained that after losing his banking job, he took on manual labour and other hustles to sustain the lifestyle he had built.

“I’d lost my job as a banker, and to maintain that lifestyle, I was hustling, doing all kinds of things, but nobody saw it. The Porsches were still outside. I had my priorities wrong.”

The “Mr. Steeze” personality added that despite the fame from his viral Ojude Oba appearance, his lifestyle has remained the same.

“I’m going to be 60 next month, and my lifestyle has not changed. All that has happened is a viral photo brought me to everybody’s attention.”

He concluded that true wealth goes beyond money, saying: “You may have 99 problems, but the minute you have a health problem, you only have one problem.”

Billionaire King Ochacho Gifts Peller & Jarvis ₦400m Abuja Mansion At Their Wedding ........

Billionaire businessman and real estate mogul King Ochacho has reportedly gifted newlyweds Peller and Jarvis a brand-new mansion worth ₦400 million in Abuja as a wedding present.

The surprise happened during their grand wedding celebration when King Ochacho took the microphone and addressed the couple and their guests.

According to him, houses around his palace are worth no less than ₦400 million. He then revealed that the decision to give Peller and Jarvis the property was inspired by his children, who told him that the couple deserved the gift.

He announced:

“Peller, on behalf of my children, I am presenting a brand-new house for you worth ₦400 million in Lifecamp, Abuja. Congratulations, Peller.”

The announcement reportedly sent the wedding guests into loud cheers.

Peller, who appeared overwhelmed by the unexpected gesture, thanked King Ochacho repeatedly and recalled how he first met the billionaire at another wedding.

He said he had jokingly invited King Ochacho to his own wedding at the time, without expecting that the billionaire would actually show up.

Peller also prayed for God's blessings upon King Ochacho and his family and expressed his appreciation for the extraordinary wedding gift.

Tinubu Omits Primary, Secondary School Qualification In INEC Documents ........

The personal particulars and academic credentials submitted by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for the 2027 presidential election show that he listed only his university qualification in the educational qualifications section of his EC9 nomination form, leaving the spaces provided for his primary and secondary school qualifications blank.

The documents, published on Saturday by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in line with its revised Timetable and Schedule of Activities for the 2027 General Election, form part of the nomination papers filed by candidates seeking to contest the January 16, 2027 presidential election.

The commission also published documents of the Vice Presidential candidates of the political parties.

A review of Tinubu's EC9 form by The Guardian shows that under the section for educational qualifications, the President listed a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Business Administration obtained from Chicago State University, United States, in 1979.

The spaces provided for primary and secondary school qualifications on the summary page of the form were left blank.

However, Tinubu attached copies of his Bachelor of Science degree certificate and his National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) certificate as part of the supporting documents accompanying his nomination papers.

In the form, the President stated that he was born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos and listed his occupation as "Politician."

He also outlined his employment history, indicating that he worked at Mobil Nigeria Limited between 1983 and 1992 before serving as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.

He listed his current employment as the Federal Government of Nigeria from 2023 to date and declared that he had never been dismissed from the public service.
