REP UKPONG-UDO COMMENDS GOLDEN MANDATE MOVEMENT, REAFFIRMS COMMITMENT TO GRASSROOTS DEVELOPMENT
The Member representing Ikono/Ini Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Emmanuel Ukpong-udo, PhD, has commended the leadership of the Golden Mandate Movement (GMM), a socio-political and grassroots development organisation, for its vision of promoting grassroots mobilisation, community development, and humanitarian service across Akwa Ibom State.
Rep. Ukpong-Udo, who was invited to serve as Chairman of the Occasion at the inauguration of the Golden Mandate Movement, was represented by Barr. Edet Inyangidim at the event, held on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Ati Annang International Secretariat, Ikot Ekpene.
The inauguration attracted political leaders, stakeholders, traditional rulers, community leaders, party faithful, and supporters from across the Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District.
Delivering the goodwill message of the federal lawmaker, Barr. Inyangidim congratulated the newly inaugurated executives of the movement and praised its leadership for establishing a platform that combines grassroots political participation with programmes aimed at improving the welfare of the people. He noted that sustainable development begins at the grassroots and encouraged members of the movement to remain committed to selfless service, unity, and initiatives that directly impact the lives of ordinary citizens.
Barr. Inyangidim also conveyed Rep. Ukpong-udo's appreciation to the leadership of the organisation for the honour of inviting him to chair the historic inauguration, describing the Golden Mandate Movement as a welcome addition to efforts aimed at strengthening community development and citizen participation across the state.
The ceremony featured the inauguration of the movement's executive members, the unveiling of its grassroots development agenda, the presentation of educational grants to selected beneficiaries, and the announcement of humanitarian programmes, including scholarships, healthcare outreach, business support, skills acquisition, and housing assistance for vulnerable persons.
Rep. Ukpong-udo reaffirmed his commitment to supporting initiatives that empower the people, strengthen communities, and promote inclusive development, while wishing the Golden Mandate Movement success in achieving its vision of building a more prosperous and united Akwa Ibom State.
