ANCIENT WORDS
“Remember ye the former things of old:
for I am God, and there is none else.”
(Isaiah 46:9)
There is a generation that is fascinated by everything new; new ideas, new methods, new discoveries, new voices. But in the midst of everything changing around us, there are ancient truths that must never be forgotten.
The fact that something is ancient does not mean it has lost its power.
God says in Jeremiah 6:16:
“Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths, where is the good way, and walk therein.”
The old paths are not necessarily outdated paths. They are paths that have already been tested.
ANCIENT WORDS ARE WORDS THAT HAVE BEEN TESTED
Psalm 12:6 says:
“The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.”
God's Word has survived generations, persecution, opposition, criticism and changing cultures.
Men have come and gone, kingdoms have risen and fallen, philosophies have changed—but the Word of God remains.
Isaiah 40:8 says:
“The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.”
What God said yesterday does not become false because the world has changed today.
ANCIENT WORDS STILL HAVE PRESENT POWER
Hebrews 4:12 says:
“For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword.”
Notice that Scripture doesn't say the Word was powerful.
It says the Word is powerful.
That means the Word God spoke thousands of years ago can still heal a broken heart today.
It can still correct a wandering believer.
It can still give hope to someone who wants to give up. It can still expose darkness.
It can still produce faith.
Ancient truth can produce present transformation...
