We, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Taraba State members, under the 👉Drugs and Quality Control CDS Group successfully conducted a sensitization outreach program at Government Day Secondary School (GDSS) RIMI, Takum Local Government Area, Taraba State. The initiative aimed to educate students on the harmful effects of drug abuse, its consequences, and the importance of adopting healthy lifestyles.
Through interactive sessions and presentations, the students were empowered with knowledge to make informed decisions and resist substance abuse.
The program underscores the commitment of NYSC members to promoting youth development and community engagement.

E get one police man wey Dey worry am each time he come to print work. So finally my sister give out number to him and it was my number 😂😂

One day I Dey wash clothes my phone rang and was like hello Nwa Oma.

I was like sorry who is this ?

He said I’m the officer you gave your number today at the business center and I was like “ me ke”

Do you mean my sister ? He answered yes!

Then I rushed and gave my sister phone to carry her cross. My sister rejected the phone from me.

Guess what I did? I rushed and sent the officer her number as text make he use call finish am 🤣🤣

The man called and called and started calling me again. I picked and he said to me “ Bia nna your sister is not picking my call, can you give her phone to speak with me?

I ended the call ozugbo and he called again. Oya send me your account details right now make I do something for you.

Then I remembered I had acess bank account and fiaam I don send am 🤦🏾‍♂️🫣😄

In two minutes time I received 10k and it was like 1 million to me 😩

COMBATING DRUG ABUSE: A COMMUNITY OUTREACH INITIATIVE

Earlier today being the 23rd of October 2025, we, the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members of the [DRUGS AND QUALITY CONTROL CDS GROUP] in collaboration/partnership with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency [NDLEA], in Takum Local Government Area of Taraba State, Nigeria, embarked on a crucial outreach program aimed at sensitizing the community about the dangers of drug abuse and the intake of illicit substances. The initiative, which targeted the bustling Takum market, was a resounding success, reaching out to a diverse group of market women, men, youths, and children.

The outreach program was designed to educate the community on the devastating effects of drug abuse, which has become a growing concern in many parts of Nigeria. We the NYSC members under the Drug and Quality Control CDS Group and the NDLEA, armed with informative materials and engaging presentations, interacted with the market crowd, sharing valuable insights on the risks associated with substance abuse. From the physical and mental health implications to the social and economic consequences, the community was enlightened on the far-reaching effects of drug abuse.

The program's impact was palpable, with many community members expressing gratitude for the initiative. Our efforts to engage with the crowd, answer questions, and address concerns helped to dispel myths and misconceptions about drug abuse. The outreach program also provided a platform for community members to share their personal experiences and struggles with substance abuse, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding.

The success of this outreach program underscores the importance of community-based initiatives in combating drug abuse. By empowering community members with knowledge and awareness, we have taken a significant step towards creating a safer and healthier environment.
