CHAPTER FOUR
JOURNEY OF A SINGLE MOTHER 💪💪💪✌️✌️✌️💪💪✊️✊️✊️💪
Eh.........I was actually warned. I was warned to be very careful because of the glory I was carrying, but over- confidence k!lled me.
I thought I could abstain from immorality by my own strength. I thought being a principled lady was a guarantee that devil won’t bring me down.
Well, I was wrong.
I could vividly remember that day I went to the market to get some stuffs. I got everything I needed that day and was ready to return to my hostel. As I was going, a man stopped me.
+Young lady, can I have a word with you?” He asked.
I was afraid.
+Who is this man and what does he wants from me?” I asked within myself.
I gave him my attention because I didn’t know why he stopped me. I wasn’t sure of what he wanted to tell me.
+Young lady, immediately I saw you, the holy spirit ministered unto me.” He said. I became impatient. I was eager to know what the spirit told him so that I could leave the scorching sun.
+Young lady, you’re Adebisi?” He asked.
+Yes, how did you know my name?” I asked him. My mouth was widely opened because I was very shocked to my marrow.
+Bisi, you need to be very careful. You are a glorious child. The seed of greatness is deposited inside you. You were created for greatness. God created you to shine. You are going to be a great woman of God to the extent that gentiles shall come to your light and kings to the rising of your brightness.
Nevertheless, I want you to know that the dev!l is not at rest. The work of the dev!l is to steal, k!ll and destroy the greatness in you, if you allow him.
The devil is not at rest. He is walking about, looking for strategies or means on how to ki-ll you.
I want you to know that even if it will take the devil 100 years, he can never give up.
The devil is not resting on your matter. The only time he can rest is when he is done with his mission —to ki-ll, to steal and to destroy.
I am not telling you all these to scare you. I’m telling you so that you can know that you are on a battle ground. The devil is fighting hard to sn**ch the grestness in you. God as well is trying hard to preserve you. It now depends on who you allow to win.
If you allow sin in your life, you’ve rendered God impotent to fight your battles for you. God will leave you alone to the hands of the devil to overcome you just because of your sin. Sin makes God powerless because the devil is an accuser of brethren.
Even if God still wants to fight you despite your sins, the devil will point out your sins to God and God cannot break His words and standards.
I’m sure if you allow the devil to overcome, that’s the end of life for you except if the mercy of God later prevail. That is why it is dangerous to allow the devil to have a way in your life because if you allow him, he can destroy things in your life beyond repair, in a twinkle of an eye.
That is why, you must not toil with sin. You must draw your self close to the fire—God. Don’t you dare leave Him if you don’t want your life to be totally ruined. Keep serving God with the whole of your heart. God will surely fight your battles for you. See you at the top soon.” He said.
I thanked him from the bottom of my heart and asked him to pray for me. He prayed for me.
Before we finally departed, he said ” WATCH and PRAY”. I smiled while I bade him goodbye.
When I got home, I pondered on everything that happened. Of a truth, I knew I was destined for greatness. I knew God created me for a very great purpose because everything was revealed to me in my dreams.
I became more serious with the things of God. I tried my best to live a life above sin.
I kept on following God because I didn’t want the devil to prevail over my life.

I could vividly remember one night I had heart-to-heart conversation with my roommates.
One of them asked if I had a boyfriend.
They knew I didn’t have one, but they felt I had one in the secret that wasn’t known to them. They were surprised when I told them I had none. I made them to understand my stand and conviction. That night, it was as if they should stone me by the time I was done with my speech
All my room mates had boyfriends. They brought them home.
Times without number have I seen some of my room mates having s-ex with their boyfriends right inside our room.
There was a day I was very exhausted after lectures. I decided to go home directly instead of going to the library to read my handouts before returning home as usual.
On getting home, the door was not locked. I was surprised the door wasn’t locked because I thought I was going to be the first person to enter the roon after lectures. I also thought my room mates would had gone to their friends’ or boyfriends’ houses immediately after lectures.
But, to my greatest surprise, the door wasn’t locked. So, I entered.
Guess what I saw.
I met one of my room mates having se.x with her boyfriend.
I was really tired. I felt like running back to where I was coming from, but the strength wasn’t there to take my heels.

Well, that wasn’t the first time. I have spoken with them to stop bringing their boyfriends home. They told me to leave the room for them if I wasn’t comfortable.
So, that day, I expected them to stop. They didn’t. They covered themselves up.
I expected them to stop since they were aware that someone was around.
My roomie just hissed and told her boyfriend to continue what they were doing.
+By the time she is tired of watching us, she will take her leave.” She said.
I felt like leaving the room for them, but I just couldn’t.
I went to my bed and tried forcing sleep to come. I faced the wall so that my eyes wouldn’t be seeing their rubbish.
Their noise wasn’t allowing my sleep to come.
I was binding and casting the devil in my mind because some thoughts were flooding my heart.
It became uncontrollable for me but I made up my mind not to leave.
After some minutes, they stopped what they were doing.
+Ah, so this girl is still in the room?” She said.
+That your SU room mate needs to be awake. She needs to be enjoying all these. She need to be out of her bo***ge. See all the fun she is missing”. Her boyfriend said.
+B. i. s. i…” She suddenly called.
I closed my eyes immediately, pretending as if I was asleep.
+Stup!d girl. You better wake up and enjoy all what we have been enjoying. For how long will you continue to be this yeye SU.” She said.
+Don’t mind her jare. Let us go.” Her boyfriend said.
The two of them left the room.
Immediately they left, I left my bed and went to her bed, trying to inspect the place.
I went back to my bed and a thought came to my mind.
+Bisi, you are really missing a lot.”
