Cover Reveal

Art directed by lkechukwu Anyiam-Osigwe and illustrated by Whitney , the cover of our second volume takes inspiration from the idea of masking.

For many people, masking their emotions is a means of survival, a critical instinct to help move forward in life. But, through the cover we ask the audience an important question: What happens when you wear the mask for too long?

The three dimensional nature to the cover and the pull-out sleeve captures how we can remove the mask to show what truly lies underneath. We believe the cover exemplifies one of the many ways the theme of "Suffering and Smiling" can be interpreted.

Deadline has been extended for submission towards the 2nd volume of Soro Soke Mag to the 30th of March 2024.

The theme of the volume is Suffering and Smiling, a phrase which many would find familiar and may resonate with, a phrase that can be aptly used to describe/articulate an aspect of the Nigerian experience. We seek contributions that examine this theme from a holistic lens, with references to lifestyle, society and the personal.
