How Berlin Conference of 1884-1885 impacted Ketu region & The 7 son's of Oranmiyan.

The Berlin Conference of 1884-1885 was a pivotal event where European powers divided Africa among themselves, disregarding existing borders and local populations. This led to the fragmentation of African states and had lasting impacts on their economies, cultures, and politics.

In the case of Imeko Afon, its history is closely tied to the Ketu kingdom, which was a major power in the region. The kingdom was eventually divided by European colonial powers, with some areas becoming part of Nigeria and others part of Benin. Specifically, Ilara-Yewa, a town in Imeko Afon, was divided between British and French colonial powers, with the people choosing to follow the British.

The seven sons of Oranmiyan are divided between the Republic of Benin (formerly known as Dahomey) and Nigeria.

The first three sons are located in the Republic of Benin (RPB):

1. Alaketu of Ketu
2. Onisabe of Sabe
3. Onipopo of Popo

The remaining four sons are located in Nigeria:

1. Orangun of Ila
2. Olowu of Owu Orile
3. Oba of Benin
4. Alaafin of Oyo

This division reflects the historical migration and settlement patterns of the Yoruba people.

*Ramadan Day 05:*

"Every prayer in Ramadan is a step towards healing your soul."

May Allah accept our fast, forgive our sins, and grant us the strength to continue on this noble path. May this blessed month brings us closer to our Creator, and may we emerge from it with renewed faith, compassion, and generosity.

Mubarak!
