📢 ARMY CONFIRMS ARREST OF SOLDIER INVOLVED IN ADAMAWA INCIDENT

The Nigerian Army has confirmed the arrest of one of its personnel, Lance Corporal Ahmed Aminu, in connection with the death of a phone repairer, Alkasim Ibrahim, in Mayo Belwa Local Government Area of Adamawa State.
🗓️ The incident occurred on Friday and has since sparked public outcry and calls for justice.
In an official statement issued Saturday by Lieutenant Adebayo Adewumi, Acting Assistant Director of Army Public Relations (23 Armour Brigade, Yola), the Army stated that the soldier is now in custody and a full investigation is ongoing.

“The Nigerian Army acknowledges the reported incident with deep concern and wishes to inform the public that the said soldier has since been taken into custody,” the statement read.

The Army has also reassured the public of transparency and accountability as the matter unfolds.

Liverpool forward Diogo Jọta and his younger brother Andre Silva have tragically passed away in s fatal car crash in Zamora, Spain .

The 28-year-old Portuguese striker, who recently celebrated his wedding just days ago , died when their Lamborghini reportedly suffered a tyre blowout and burst into flames. His brother, Andre , Also lost his life in the accident.

Jọta was an hero on the pitch - known for his incredible work rate , skills, and passion. With over 65 goals for Liverpool since joining 2020 , he was a champion, father, a husband, and an inspiration to millions.

Our deepest condolences go to his wife , children , family, teammates , and fans all around the world. May his and that of his brother rest in peace 🕊️

LGON denies supporting Wamakko as Tinubu’s running mate

The Sokoto State chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria has distanced itself from a recent call made by one of its members advocating for Senator Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko’s nomination as the vice-presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued in Sokoto on Sunday, the State Chairman of ALGON and Executive Chairman of Tambuwal Local Government Area, Alhaji Abba Shehu Tambuwal, clarified that the call was the personal opinion of Alhaji Abdullahi Yarima, the Secretary of the Association and Chairman of Kebbe Local Government Area.
“Our dear colleague, who also serves as our scribe, merely expressed his individual opinion,” the statement clarified.
“While he is entitled to his views like every other citizen, it must be clearly stated that he was acting on his own.”

ALGON emphasised that Senator Wamakko, who currently represents Sokoto North Senatorial District at the National Assembly, has not declared.....
