Modupe Owonikoko Foundation to Hold Free Medical Outreach for Widows and Vulnerable Women in Afijio, Ibadan; Seek Stakeholder Partnership
The Modupe owonikoko foundation has announced plans to hold a free medical outreach for widows and vulnerable women in Afijio Local Government Area and Ibadan, while seeking stakeholder partnership to implement the programme.
Speaking on behalf of the founder and Ilora-born human rights activists and Legal Practitioner Barr. Modupe Owonikoko, Mrs. Ayeni Mary, Chief Operations Officer of the Modupe Owonikoko Foundation, said the aim of the outreach is to provide free health services and health education to widows, vulnerable women, and other undeserved members of the community.
"The outreach aims to provide free health screening, medical consultation, eye screening, health education, medications, and referrals where necessary to approximately 1,000 widows and vulnerable women," she stated.
“In partnership, we are currently recruiting volunteers to support the implementation of the project. We are looking for: medical doctors, nurses and midwives, pharmacists, optometrists/eye care professionals, medical laboratory scientists, community health officers and extension workers, public health, medical, nursing, and pharmacy students, community mobilizers, media and documentation volunteers (photography, videography, social media), administrative and logistics volunteers, and passionate individuals willing to serve and support vulnerable women. Volunteers will assist us with registration, community mobilization, health education, clinical support, logistics, documentation, crowd management, and general coordination,” Ayeni added.

The free medical outreach is scheduled for June 15 - 25, 2026. The first week will serve Afijio Local Government Area residents while the second week will serve Ibadan residents.
