REV. DR. OLUSOLA IDOWU ASSUMES OFFICE AS 8TH NBC PRESIDENT

Yesterday, Ilora-born Baptist Minister, Rev. Dr. David Olusola Idowu, formally assumed office as the 8th President of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.

Recalls that Dr. Olushola Idowu, who hails from Bantun Compound in Ilora, was announced during the 2026 Annual Convention of the Nigerian Baptist Convention held in Abuja. He succeeds the 7th President of the NBC, Rev. Dr. Israel Adelani Akanji, who recently completed his tenure.
Dr. Idowu was welcomed into the Headquarters of the NBC, Baptist Building, Oke-Bola, Ibadan, with a commencement service before formally assuming office as the 8th President of the NBC.

We wish you a successful and impactful tenure, Sir.

Today, we rejoice with the family of our father, the Chairman of Ilora Muslim Community and Afijio Muslim Community, Alhaji Rafiu Akinola, as his eldest son, Akinola Abdulqaudir, officially attains a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Arts.

Dr. Akinola Abdulqaudir, who is a Lecturer at Emmanuel Alayande University of Education, Oyo, is today being conferred with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Arts degree from the prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN).

Congratulations, Dr. Akinola. It is a well-deserved academic attainment.
