Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq Inspects Multi-Storey Kwara Revenue House Ahead of Commissioning

Kwara State Governor, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, has conducted an inspection of the newly constructed multi-storey Kwara Revenue House ahead of its official commissioning.

Kwara News Update reports that the governor visited the facility on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, accompanied by senior government officials and other dignitaries.

Located along Ahmadu Bello Way in the Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Ilorin, the state-of-the-art facility is expected to serve as the operational headquarters of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service (KW-IRS).

Governor AbdulRazaq was received by the Executive Chairman of the KW-IRS, Shade Omoniyi, and members of the agency's management team, who took him on a guided tour of the building and highlighted its major features.

According to the management of the agency, the facility is designed to strengthen tax administration in the state by bringing various operations of the revenue service under one roof, improving staff efficiency, enhancing service delivery, and supporting technology-driven revenue management.

Speaking during the inspection, Governor AbdulRazaq expressed satisfaction with the quality of work carried out on the project and described the facility as another significant milestone in his administration's efforts to strengthen public institutions and promote sustainable development.

He said the project reflects the government's commitment to modernising public infrastructure, improving institutional efficiency, and creating a more effective revenue administration system.

The governor added that the facility represents a strategic investment aimed at strengthening the state's economic foundation while improving service delivery for taxpayers across Kwara State.

The new Kwara Revenue House is expected to promote better coordination among departments, eliminate operational challenges, improve productivity, and further support the digital transformation agenda of the Kwara State Internal Revenue Service.

Upon completion and commissioning, the facility is expected to become one of the most prominent public service structures in the state.

UPDATE⚡️: Nigerian Army Inspects Proposed Battalion Sites in Omu-Aran, Kwara State Following President Tinubu’s Approval

Senior officers of the Nigerian Army on Monday, July 27, 2026, visited Omu-Aran in Irepodun Local Government Area of Kwara State to inspect the proposed locations for the permanent battalion base and a temporary operational camp.

The inspection follows President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s approval for the establishment of a new Nigerian Army battalion in Omu-Aran as part of efforts to strengthen security across Kwara State and its neighbouring areas.

The Army delegation was received by the Executive Chairman of Irepodun Local Government, who accompanied the officers during the inspection. The visit focused on assessing the suitability of the proposed sites, existing infrastructure, and the logistical requirements needed to commence operations.

PATIGI LG COUNCIL DISTRIBUTES MOTORCYCLES AND BULLETPROOF VESTS TO SECURITY AGENCIES IN PATIGI LGA, INCLUDING THE NDACHEKO OF ETSU PATIGI; APPRECIATES PRESIDENT TINUBU AND GOVERNOR ABDULRAZAQ

Patigi Local Government Council, under the visionary leadership of the Executive Chairman, Hon. Ahmed Adam Rufai, today distributed another phase of its security support initiative with the distribution of over 20 motorcycles and more than 50 bulletproof vests (protective jackets) to security agencies across Patigi Local Government Area, including the Ndacheko of Etsu Patigi. The distribution took place at the Local Government Secretariat in Patigi.

According to the Executive Chairman, the Nigeria Forest Security Service (Forest Guards) received the highest number of motorcycles in this phase in recognition of their critical role in safeguarding forests and rural communities. Other security agencies that benefited during the previous phase also received additional motorcycles to further strengthen their operational capacity.

Hon. Rufai urged all beneficiaries to make judicious use of the motorcycles and protective equipment, stressing that they should be properly maintained and deployed strictly for the purpose of protecting lives and property across the local government.

The initiative underscores the Council's unwavering commitment to strengthening security architecture, enhancing rapid response capabilities, and ensuring the safety of residents throughout Patigi Local Government Area.

The Executive Chairman expressed profound appreciation to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, and His Excellency, Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, the Executive Governor of Kwara State, for their relentless efforts in tackling insecurity across the country and the state. He particularly commended them for supporting the establishment of the Nigeria Forest Security Service and for the timely deployment and mobilisation of security personnel whenever the need arises.

Speaking on behalf of the security agencies, the Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), Patigi Local Government Area, expressed gratitude to the Executive Chairman for his consistent support and for providing an enabling environment for security operations. He assured the Chairman and the people of Patigi of the agencies' continued commitment to enhancing security and discharging their responsibilities with greater dedication.
