STUDENTS FROM DEPARTMENT OF LAW KWARA CAILS,ILORIN ON A LEGAL BATTLE WITH 4 NIGERIA UNIVERSITIES FROM FACULTY OF LAW.

The moot, debate and quiz Society (MDQS) In conjunction with the law student society (LSS) University of ilorin Organized a Competition on Behalf Of Yusuf Olaolu Ali ( YOA) National advocacy contest. Where higher institutions offering law were invited. Schools like University of ilorin, University of Ibadan, Kwara state College of legal studies, Kwara State University, Al-Hikmah university, Obafemi Awolowo university, Ladoke Akintola University.
On the 4th of July, 2023. All the participants from various schools were welcomed by the organizing committee. Unfortunately, Obafemi Awolowo university and Kwara state university were absent. Schools present were given names for their group namely;
1 University of ilorin Team phoenix
2 Kwara CAILS Team warrior
3 University of ibadan. Team Laker
4 Alhikmah university. Team Bosten
5 Ladoke Akintola. Team Mavericks
On the 5th of July, 2023, the competition (quiz, debate) started around 3pm which comprises of course like constitutional law, law of contract, legal history, general knowledge and current affairs. After the the competition, four schools made a step to the next stage, namely;
1. University of ilorin
2. Kwara CAILS
3. Alhikmah university
4. University of ibadan
Ladoke Akintola university was defeated.
Around 5pm of the same day, the debate competition started. The participants were to battle on the topic:
“ Should The Ban On Abortion Be Revisited In Countries The Enforce Such A Ban”
Team laker of Uniibadan and Team Warrior of Kwara CAILS were to opposed the motion and to be supported by Team Phoenix of Unilorin and Team Bosten of Alhikmah university.
After the overall debate competition, Team Lakers and Team Phoenix qualified for the last stage for moot-court trail.
Team Phoenix of university of ilorin won the competition and were awarded prices and others participant were given certificates of participation.
