Saudi Arabia is building a cable car system to the Cave of Hira on Jabal al Nour in Makkah. The project is part of the Hira Cultural District and is expected to launch by 2025. It will ease access to the cave, which currently requires a difficult climb that can take up to three 3hours.

The cable car will make the sacred site more accessible for elderly and disabled pilgrims, while the traditional walking path will remain for those who wish to climb.

The system will have multiple stations along the slope and is designed to reduce physical strain while preserving the cultural and religious importance of the location.

2025 World Teachers' Day: Governor AbdulRazaq Declares Holiday, Salutes Teachers' Sacrifice

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has approved Monday, October 6, 2025, as a public holiday for Kwara teachers in honour of the World Teachers' Day, underscoring their central role in nation-building.

Delivering the Governor's message, Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, Dr Lawal Olohungbebe, paid glowing tribute to teachers' resilience, sacrifice, and devotion, describing them as critical stakeholders in advancing human progress and national development.

"Our teachers embody patience, sacrifice, and resilience. They nurture minds, shape futures, and drive society's growth. Today, Kwara salutes their labour of love, for without teachers, no profession exists," he declared.

Emir Appoints Alh Suleman Abdulwahab omokayode as Balogun Ajikobi of ilorin Emirate

Today September 19, 2025 – His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari, CFR, the Emir of Ilorin, has announced the appointment of Alhaji Suleiman Omokayode Abdulwahab as the new Balogun Ajikobi of Ilorin Emirate.

Until this appointment, Alhaji Suleiman served with distinction as the District Head of Ipaye. In a transitional arrangement, he will continue to oversee the responsibilities of the Ipaye district pending the appointment of a new District Head.

The Emir offered his prayers for Alhaji Suleiman's successful reign, wishing him long life, sound health, and the wisdom to discharge the duties of both esteemed titles effectively.
