History has been made in Nigeria’s education sector 📚

The National Universities Commission (NUC) has officially approved the establishment of Tazkiyah University, the first and only female university in the country.
With its take-off site in Zaria, Kaduna State, the renowned Sufi Sheikh Professor Ibrahim Maqari, Chief Imam of the National Mosque, Abuja, who serves as its proprietor. This milestone marks a new dawn for women’s education, empowerment, and excellence in Nigeria.
It is envisioned as a university exclusively for women, potentially even staffed entirely by female lecturers—an unprecedented model in Nigeria’s higher education system.
The esteemed scholar announced this on his page, expressing his gratitude to God. Furthermore, Professor Maqari stated that all the profits generated by this institution will be placed in a fund to support orphans indefinitely
Tazkiya university is among the nine new private Universities the Federal Government Approved.
The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, announced that the newly approved institutions are : Tazkiyah University, Kaduna State; Leadership University, Abuja; Jimoh Babalola University, Kwara State; Bridget University, Mbaise, Imo State; Greenland University, Jalingo, Taraba State; JEFAP University, Niger State; Azione Verde University, Imo State; Unique Open University, Lagos State; and American Open University, Ogun State.
Although the university’s permanent site is proposed in Kaduna State, initial operations would begin in Zaria, before moving fully to Kaduna.
