The Okpoho is an ancient money invented by the Efik and used extensively in the 16th century AD across West Africa as a medium of monetary exchange in trade between the Europeans and indigenous west Africans.

Made of bronze or copper, the Okpoho was

usually formed into a ring-shaped object that

looked like a bracelet with each end of the ring

flattened out. Because it looked like a bracelet

(and in fact, was sometimes worn around the

wrists, neck or ankles as bracelets by women of

wealthy husbands), the Spanish called it

'manilla', meaning bracelets.

The Okpoho originated in ancient Calabar City, Efik country, and its use was documented in the 16th AD as a medium of monetary exchange where one Okpoho bought one elephant tooth, and one slave could be bought for 8 to 10 Okpohos during the slave trade era. The Okpoho is also featured at the back of the Nigerian N100 currency note, and also in the Akwa Ibom State seal, and in many other places.

A man dièd and left his dog...

his son looked for the dog but didn't find it.

The dog is missing...

A few days later, the cemetery management informs the son that a dog digs a hole on his father grave! The son went to the cemetery and saw his father dog there next to his grave and took it to his home,

Two days later the dog ran away again and so it took several weeks until the son had to leave the dog in his grave. He came everyday to bring him food and water, the dog refused to eat and didn't let anyone near the grave. The dog lived another week until he dièd on his owner's grave...

I wonder what kind of person is capable of loving unconditionally like this dog!

The match was exciting. Both team played well from Courtois to D. Carvajal, A. Rüdiger, E. Camavinga, Rodrygo till V. Júnior and on the other side from Grealish to Gündoğan, K. De Bruyne, J. Stones, Walker till Ederson. But was very badly managed by the Referee.
The next match league 2 will be played on 17th May at Etihad Stadium Manchester England between the both teams again.

Did you know that the legendary referee Pierluigi Collina:

◾️ The only referee who had the VAR in his eyes.
◾️ This referee could communicate in 4 languages on the field (French, Spanish, Italian and English).
◾️ Before each game, he studied the game and the players of the teams he would lead and learned the names of the players.
◾️ During the 2002 World Cup final in Japan, Ronaldo gave him his shirt and the ball. The players from Brazil and Germany had congratulated him on his performance.
◾️ Footballers had huge respect for him and even fear, just by his presence. 🙌

THE UNTOLD AND TRUE STORY OF DORCAS BABALOLA.

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola was called into the ministry in 1928 at the age of 24 when he encountered the voice of God at Ikeji Arakeji while working for the Public Works Department in charge of road construction as the driver of the steam roller.

Babalola started his ministry that same year and God began to work with him confirming His Word with outstanding miracles, notable signs and wonders.

By the year 1930, his fame began to spread abroad most especially due to his amazing exploits at the Great Revival that happened at Ilesa which changed the spiritual climate of the western region.

It is not an overstatement to say that the impact of the great revival was felt virtually all over the country.

Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola became a force to be reckoned with in the Nigerian church and became the leader of the pentecostal movement in Nigeria. His name was virtually on every lip both of friends and foes, admirers and critics.

Babalola however remained single and many of his family members, followers and colleagues were becoming curious as to why he was not considering marriage being a church leader.

It then came to pass that after persistent pressure from his father, Pa David Rotimi Talabi, Apostle Joseph Ayo Babalola got married to Dorcas on April 25, 1935.

About 6000 people attended the wedding and he received a total gift of 3 pounds, 10 shillings and 6 pence.

The wedding took place at the first Aladura assembly at Efon Alaaye and was conducted by Pastor David Odubanjo, Pastor J.S.B Odusona and Pastor Medaiyese.

Apostle Babalola met his wife a virgin and had to give her 2 pounds and 10 shillings for the virginity, a custom of the Yoruba people at that time.

During their lifetime, Babalola used to call his wife " Mama Abiye" and Dorcas would also call him "Baba Abiye". They settled down in Efon Alaaye.
