"Why Is My Inverter Overloading When My Panels Are Working Fine?" π€
Great question we get a lot! Here's the simple truth:
**Your Inverter Size β Your Panel Size**
Many people think "bigger panels = bigger inverter automatically." Not quite. Your inverter is rated in **VA (Volt-Amps)** or KVA, and it must match what you actually plan to "run", not just what your panels produce.
β‘ Quick Rule of Thumb.
Add up the wattage of everything you want to power at the same time:
- TV (100W) + Fridge (150W) + Fans (3 x 70W) + Lights (5 x 10W) = *~570W*
Then add 20-30% buffer for startup surges (fridges and AC units "kick" harder when starting). So a 1.5kVA inverter would comfortably handle this β but adding an AC unit later? You'd need to upgrade.
π **Why this matters:**
- Undersized inverter = constant tripping/overload alarms
- Oversized inverter = wasted money + poor efficiency at low loads
π‘ Feezlinkz Tip: Before buying, list out your appliances and their wattage (usually printed on the back or nameplate). Send us the list β we'll help you size it correctly for FREE, so you don't overspend or underpower your home.
