the number of states each candidate has a good lead as at today.

1. Tinubu/APC -
North west : Zamfara,Kebbi,Kaduna
North East : Borno and Taraba
North Central: Kwara,KOGI,Niger and FCT
South East : Nil
South South: Rivers and Akwa IBOM
South West : Ekiti,Ondo,Osun,Ogun and Lagos

2. Atiku/ADC -
South West : Nil
South East : Nil
South South : Nil
North Central: Nasarawa.
North East : Yobe,Gombe,Bauchi,Adamawa
North West : Sokoto, Katsina,Jigawa

3. Obi/NDC
North East : Nil
North West : Nil
North Central: Plateau,Benue
South West : Nil
South East : Anamabra,Enugu,Ebonyi,ABIA,Imo
South South: Edo,Delta,Cross Rivers,Bayelsa

4. Seyi Makinde/APM - Oyo State.

The issue with this election will be the 25% spread. Tinubu will have 25% in at least 26 states. Atiku will have 25% in at least 19 states. Obi will have 25% in at least 17 states.

The race is between the three major candidates. If the turnout is solid in the North, Atiku might force a rerun but in my opinion, there is no clear lead for now.

Things will change and I will update. Some will gain more states and some will lose more Opposition only stand a chance only when they unite.

I'm not a fan of Obi but the statement from NDC isn't fair to him and Obidients. Just because you gave Obi an automatic ticket, you want to control Obidients by proxy, control the campaign funds and prioritize the party above the movement.

What will be the gain of the likes of Aisha Yesufu, Tanko and others who suffered to lead the movement. One even lost out the ticket hoping to regain relevance through the control of campaign funding.

Indeed Dickson isn't a comrade like Abure but a politician like others. I hope they are not planning to strip Obi of his only political leverage - Obidients. First they didn't give any Obidients a ticket, and now this statement.

The issue with Benue State politics at the governorship level is not about changing political parties. It is about the zones that have held down the state for decades without meaningful development, yet have refused to give just one person from Zone C a chance.

Zone C has tested and trusted leaders across all age groups. Honestly, Makurdi is just a glorified local government headquarters when you compare it with capitals of other states created in the same year.

Benue State needs to get its leadership structure right and give the people of Zone C a fair opportunity to lead.

If ADC and NDC give their party tickets to Zone A or Zone B again, then they are no different from APC and PDP.
