“At this point, I’m convinced English was designed to confuse us all 😭✏️”

So, I was teaching one of my elementary students pronunciation, and we came across the word “knife.”
He looked at it, squinted, and confidently said it out loud — yes, with the “K” included 😭😂

I corrected him and said, “No, the K is silent.”
He paused, stared at me, and asked,
“Teacher… why is there a K if it doesn’t talk? Is it shy?” 😭😂

I just froze — no grammar rule could save me at that point!
That day, I realized English isn’t just a language… it’s a full-time comedy show! 🤣

What’s that English spelling that doesn't just make sense to you ?
Mine will be in the comment section👇🏻👇🏻

Wait… Is This How I Really Look? 😂

Every day as an ESL teacher feels like an episode straight out of a comedy series, one moment you’re passionately teaching pronunciation, the next… your student is busy sketching your face instead of taking notes

There I was, giving my best “teacher energy,” only to look down and realize my student had perfectly drawn my glasses and then… my head! 😭

At that point, I didn’t know whether to correct his grammar or his artwork!

Teachers, what’s the funniest or strangest thing a student has ever done in your class? Let’s laugh together! 😂

MONDAY TALK: Let’s Talk About Rude Students

So today, let’s talk about that one student who tested every bit of your patience 😭.
I once had a student who was literally playing games during class , I could hear the sound clearly! Every time he smiled, I knew it wasn’t at me 😭. Then he’d look up and say, “I can’t hear you.”

I tried (nicely) to call his attention to it… and guess what? He left the class and dropped a bad review. 💔
That day, I just sat there staring at my screen like, “Is this real life or a teacher horror movie?

It’s Monday, teachers — let’s talk! What’s the most unbelievable thing a rude student has ever done to you? Drop your story below 👇

FRIDAY RANT: The “I’ll Book Again Soon” Students 😭

It’s Friday, so let’s talk about those students , the ones who reschedule classes like it’s a full-time job! 😂
I once had a student who rescheduled because he had a minor scratch (yes, a scratch 😭). Another said work got busy, then canceled the subscription… but still says, “I’ll book again soon.” 👀

At this point, I think we need a support group for teachers dealing with chronic reschedulers 😩

Teachers, what’s the funniest or strangest reason a student ever gave for canceling class? Drop yours below

Why do students always remember their questions… when it’s ONE minute to the end of class?!
You’ve been explaining, correcting, and smiling for 24 minutes straight—then just when you say, ‘Alright, see you next class!’ they go,
‘Teacher, I have a small question…’ 😩
Next thing you know, that ‘small question’ turns into a full grammar breakdown and your 25-minute lesson becomes 35 😂.
I love my students, but sometimes I think they’re secretly trained to test our patience at the 24th minute 💀
Teachers, be honest do you answer or pretend the time is up?

The Day I Realized IELTS Students Are Built Different 😭📚”
Teaching adults can be stressful… but teaching IELTS students? That’s a full-time job for both your brain and your Google search history .
My first IELTS student was amazing—but whew! every class felt like I was preparing for the Cambridge entrance exam myself 😩.
We only had 6 classes together, yet I spent hours preparing for each one, revising vocabulary, checking grammar rules, and watching YouTube tutorials like a student on deadline 😂.
They’ll ask questions that make you question your own English degree “Teacher, why can’t we say had had instead of have had?” 😭😭
By the time class ends, your brain needs a vacation in the Maldives .
Still, I have to admit… it’s stressful, but it pushes you to grow as a teacher.
Teachers, be honest what type of students stress you the most: kids, adults, or IELTS warriors?

It’s Saturday… and I promised myself I wouldn’t think about teaching 😭
But guess what? My brain still decided to act like I’m in class 😂
So here I am, drinking tea, minding my business, and suddenly I remembered one of my students who once asked me a riddle during class. I was so confident, like ‘Please, I teach English, I can handle this!’ 💅
Five minutes later… I was still staring at the screen like a confused emoji 😭💻
Now it’s your turn, teachers — let’s see who can solve this one 👇
(Warning: Don’t be too confident like me 😅)
Drop your answers in the comments let’s see which teacher’s brain is still working on a Saturday 😂🧠💬

So apparently… I charge too low 😭😂
A few days ago, I made a simple post celebrating that my schedule was fully booked, you know, a proud teacher moment 💃.
Then someone dropped a comment saying my price was ‘ridiculous’ because I don’t have a certificate 😭.
Yes, I charge $10—but what’s the point of charging high when your schedule is empty? 🤷‍♀️
Some of us choose strategy over status. I charge low to attract students, build trust, and grow my brand… and guess what? It’s working 😉.
And oh—in the picture below is someone who charges $20, has 3 trial lessons, and zero subscriptions 😭.
So please, let’s learn to respect people’s choices. What works for me might not work for you—and that’s perfectly okay ❤️.
Because at the end of the day, we’re all just trying to make an honest living (and maybe pay for better WiFi 😂.
👉 Teachers, be honest—would you rather charge high and have few students, or charge less and stay fully booked? Let’s talk in the comments! 👇

‘Hello… are you there?’ 😩
If you’re an ESL teacher, you’ve definitely said this line more times than you’ve said your own name 😂.
Sometimes, you don’t even know if it’s the network acting up or your student just decided to stay mute and stare at the screen 😭💀.
You sit there smiling awkwardly, waving like you’re in a Zoom beauty pageant 👋😅, saying ‘Hello’ in every accent you know just hoping for a ‘Yes, teacher, I’m here.’

At this point, ‘Hello’ is not just a greeting, it’s an emotion 😭💬
ESL teachers, be honest—how many times have you said ‘Hello’ today?

It’s Monday, guys 🤭 I opened my schedule and almost screamed with joy—fully booked!! 💃 I thought, ‘Wow, this week is going to be amazing.’
But guess what… my hyper active students booked 3-HOUR slots back-to-back because it’s holiday period in their country 😭.
It’s gonna be a long day😂😂😂
Teachers, have you ever been too excited about your bookings… until reality slapped you?

Happy Teachers’ Day to all my fellow warriors in the classroom 🎉👩‍🏫👨‍🏫.
This job is not for the faint-hearted ooo 😅. Just imagine, waking up early for class, explaining ‘cat’ vs ‘cut’ 100 times, consoling crying students, and still smiling like everything is fine 😂.

Yet, despite the stress, one student’s ‘Thank you, teacher’ can melt your heart and make it all worth it 🥹💛.

So today, let’s clap for teachers everywhere 👏👏👏, we deserve it!

Teachers, how long have you been in this field and what do you enjoy most in teaching??????
