There is a popular principle that says "When the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable."

Let's take a quick look into the Origin of Valentine’s Day.

Valentine’s Day traces back to Saint Valentine, a Christian priest in 3rd-century Rome. During a time when Emperor Claudius II banned marriages for young men, Valentine secretly officiated weddings, believing in the sacredness of love and commitment. His acts of faith and compassion eventually led to his martyrdom on February 14. Over time, his courage, sacrifice, and devotion became associated with love—not merely romantic love, but selfless, covenantal love.

Valentine’s Day reminds us that love is more than a feeling—it is a decision rooted in faith. As followers of Christ, we celebrate not just romance, but the kind of love Saint Valentine stood for: love that is sacrificial, obedient to God, and grounded in truth.

Today, we reflect on God’s perfect love, revealed through Christ—love that serves, forgives, endures, and gives without counting the cost. May our homes, friendships, marriages, and communities be filled with this Christ-like love.

“Let all that you do be done in love.” — 1 Corinthians 16:14

Happy Valentine’s Day ❤️
May we love deeply, faithfully, and God-first.
