ODO-OTIN PROFILES IN LEADERSHIP

Alhaji Muritala Olabisi, Alhaji Rasak Oyelami, Alhaji Salawudeen Oyedokun and Hon. Tiamiyu Simiyu,

Alhaji Muritala Olabisi, popularly known as Aare, is a PDP elder statesman from Ward 12, revered not only in Odo-Otin but also across Osun State. He served as the Party Chairman from 2001 to 2003. His versatility and vast experience in politics are widely recognized, and his mastery of the art of politics is a testament to his exceptional wisdom. Aare's wisdom can never be underestimated, and his contributions to the party are immeasurable. He welcomed Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola to the party and played a key role in his Governorship election victory in 2003. He was a campaign committee member for the House of Representatives election in 2022 that led to the victory of Hon. Soji Adetunji in I.B.O Federal constituency. He also served as a campaign committee member during the Local Government elections in Odo-Otin this year. He is currently one of the present members of SUBEB part-time board in Osun State.

Alhaji Rasak Oyelami, popularly known as KK, is a PDP veteran from Ward 4 Faaji/Opete. He was a former Party Chairman from 2005 to 2010. His wisdom and sagacity as a leader are widely revered in Odo-Otin. He is one of the most prominent leaders of the party, whose astute leadership led our party to victory during Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola's second term election in 2007. His pivotal role during Governor Oyinlola's administration is a proof of his exceptional leadership abilities. He is currently one of the SSAs to the Governor.

Alhaji Salawudeen Oyedokun, popularly known as Salankua, is a PDP stalwart from Ward 1, Okuku. He was a former Party Chairman from 2012 to 2020. During his tenure, PDP in Osun State was an opposition party, and his experience and leadership prowess were instrumental in holding the party together. His ability to steer the party through this challenging period is a testament to his outstanding leadership skills and commitment to the party.

Hon. Tiamiyu Simiyu is a PDP leader from Ward 05, Ekosin/Iyeku/Elesinfunfun. He was a former Caretaker Party Chairman from 2022 to 2023. He played a key role in delivering Odo-Otin for Governor Adeleke during the Governorship election in 2022. He was the Councillorship candidate of his Ward from 2009 to 2025 and is presently the Councillor due to his victory during the Local Government elections held in February of this year. He also served as the Coordinator for PDP in Odo-Otin during the 2018 gubernatorial election.

In conclusion, Aare, KK, Salankua, and Hon. Simiyu are highly-valued gems to the PDP in Odo-Otin. Their outstanding leadership, dedication, and contributions to the party are deeply appreciated and will forever be remembered. They serve as exemplary models of effective leadership and commitment to the party's growth and success.

Odo-Otin PDP Media Team's Strong Stance Against Defection

The Odo-Otin PDP Media Team wishes to unequivocally state our unwavering commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State and our resolute opposition to any form of defection, especially to the All Progressives Congress (APC) or any other opposition party.

We are particularly concerned about the recent trend and rumors of leaders abandoning their parties after benefiting from the sacrifices of loyal members. We serve notice to any party leader at the state or local level contemplating defection that the party members who voted for them and gave them the mandate to serve will not follow them to any other party.

We speak on behalf of the party members when we say that our leaders' betrayal of the party's trust will not be taken lightly. If any of them decide to defect, they will do so alone, without the support of the party faithful who worked tirelessly to put them in their positions.

We stand firm in our commitment to the PDP's ideals and principles, especially the mandate given to Mr. Governor and we will continue to work towards ensuring the party's victory in future elections. We urge all party members to remain steadfast and loyal to the party, and to reject any attempt by leaders to undermine our collective efforts.

Hon. Ibrahim Omoniyi (Dende) & Hon. Jide Oyediran,

Hon. Ibrahim Omoniyi, popularly known as Dende, is a dedicated public servant from Ward 10, Inisa, in Odo-Otin Local Government Area of Osun State. A prominent member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), he has consistently demonstrated a strong commitment to effective leadership and community development.

As the former Caretaker Chairman of Odo-Otin South LCDA, Hon. Dende distinguished himself through impactful projects and administrative reforms. One of his notable achievements was the renovation of the LCDA Secretariat, transforming it into a modern and functional workspace for staff and constituents alike. This project stands as a testament to his focus on infrastructure development and creating an enabling environment for governance.

Beyond his caretaker role, Hon. Dende ventured into elective politics, having contested for the Osun State House of Assembly seat in Odo-Otin during the last general elections. Odo-Otin PDP Party Chairman Receives Mr. Adedayo Orisati and Followers into PDP

On the 1st of July, 2025, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin Local Government, under the leadership of Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, hosted a significant event at Okua Market Square, during Okua/Ekusa Ward 8 general meeting. The occasion marked the warm reception of Mr. Adedayo Orisati and his followers into the party.

The ceremony, which was attended by distinguished party leaders and members, was a resounding success. Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, the PDP Chairman, led the reception team, which included the Ward Chairman of Ward 8 and other notable party leaders in Odo-Otin such as Alh Rasaq Oyelami (KK), Hon. Prince Adewale Adeyinka, the Executive Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Alh. Nurudeen, Hon. Mrs. Okanlawon, Hon. Idowu Clement (Ward 5), Mr. Segun Ilufoye (Local Organizing Secretary), Hon. Odo-Otin Profiles in Leadership

Hon. Suraju Omoniyi,

As the current Executive Vice Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Suraju Omoniyi hails from Okuku, Odo-Otin Local Government, Osun State and is a formidable leader and grassroots mobilizer of the party, PDP. With a strong background in community engagement and party politics, Hon. Omoniyi continues to make significant contributions to the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin.

Hon. Omoniyi served as a local PDP Exco member from 2007 to 2010, and his political journey gained further momentum in 2010 when he emerged victorious in the PDP councillorship primary election in Ward 1, Okuku, although circumstances beyond his control prevented him from realizing his ambition of becoming a councillor.

He has also coordinated several key campaigns, including Governor Adeleke's 2018 governorship election. His role in the Imole Steering Committee in 2018 further showcased his ability to drive momentum for the party's initiatives.

In addition to his work with the PDP, Hon. Omoniyi has been involved in various other roles. He served on the campaign committees for the 2022 governorship election and the Atiku/Okowa Presidential campaign in 2023.

He also led the research and strategy team for Hon. Soji Adetunji's successful House of Representatives campaign in 2023. Furthermore, his experience as a delegate during Governor Adeleke's 2022 governorship primary election and Secretary for Adeleke's group in Odo-Otin has further solidified his position as a key figure in the party.

Beyond politics, Hon. Omoniyi is dedicated to community service through various organizations. He is the founder of Omoniyi Sisters, a functional group that showcases his mobilization skills. He also serves as Co-ordinator of Omo Ilu Foundation, continuing the foundation's mission initiated by the late Buruji Kasamu.

Professionally, Hon. Omoniyi has a strong background in the banking sector, most especially in customer service and accounting. He worked as a Customer Service and Accounting Officer at Wema Bank, Iragbiji Branch, in 2004 and as a Customer Service Officer at Wema Bank, Ibadan Branch, in 2005. These experiences have helped him develop strong interpersonal and financial skills, which he applies to his leadership roles.

As Hon. Suraju Omoniyi continues to serve the people of Odo-Otin, his profile as a leader is expected to continue growing.
