HONOURING THE FALLEN HEROES OF ODO-OTIN PDP
In every struggle, there are men and women who stand tall, carry the banner with courage, and give their strength to ensure victory for generations to come. In Odo-Otin PDP, we are blessed with leaders whose sacrifices, service and loyalty have shaped our history and strengthened our unity. Today, we remember six of our departed heroes whose legacies will forever remain in our hearts.
CHIEF AKOGUN BISI JINADU: A RARE GEM AND FOUNDING PILLAR OF ODO-OTIN PDP
On August 8, 2016, Odo-Otin and Osun PDP lost a giant, Chief Akogun Bisi Jinadu of Subokun’s compound, Ward 12, Inisa. He was one of the founding fathers of the PDP and a central figure whose influence reached beyond Odo-Otin to Osun State and Nigeria at large. He served as Chairman of the PDP Elders’ Caucus in Odo-Otin, where his wisdom, honesty and courage guided many.
Chief Jinadu was known for his bravery, brilliance and uncompromising commitment to the truth. A philanthropist who was always accommodating, he touched countless lives with his generosity and leadership. His impact in the politics of Odo-Otin, especially Ward 12, was profound, making him a determinant factor in the survival and growth of the PDP. Truly, he was a rare gem whose legacy endures.
PRINCE HON. AKINOLA OYINLOLA (BABA ISALE): A PILLAR OF LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE
In December 2021, the PDP lost a highly respected elder, Prince Hon. Akinola Oyinlola, fondly called Baba Isale. As a prominent leader from Ward 01 in Okuku and elder brother to former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Baba Isale was known for his leadership qualities, wisdom and philanthropy.
He was a member of the Elders’ Caucus in Odo-Otin. He was accommodating, accessible and generous, always offering guidance and support for the unity of the party. His contributions strengthened the PDP and inspired many younger politicians. Baba Isale’s life of service and generosity remains a shining example of leadership in Odo-Otin.
HON. RAUF ADEOLA: A COMMITTED PARTYMAN AND LEADER WORTHY OF EMULATION
On May 7, 2025, Odo-Otin PDP lost a loyal pillar in Hon. Rauf Adeola from Ward 14, Oyan. He began his political journey as a councillor between 1999 and 2003 and later served as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke. In every role, he proved himself dependable and deeply committed to the ideals of the party.
Hon. Adeola was a true party man whose loyalty never wavered. He often sacrificed his personal resources to mobilise for the PDP and ensure its success. His dedication and contributions remain unforgettable, making him a leader worthy of emulation and an example of selfless service to the people.
HON. TAJUDEEN ALAKA: VIBRANT, ENERGETIC AND CHARISMATIC
The sudden passing of Hon. Tajudeen Alaka on April 22, 2024, was a painful blow to Odo-Otin PDP. He served as a member of the LGEA Board in Odo-Otin, where he worked tirelessly to advance the cause of the party. Known for his passion and determination, he set himself apart as a leader who poured his energy into building a stronger PDP.
Hon. Alaka was vibrant, brilliant and charismatic. His tireless commitment and rigorous work for the party inspired others, particularly in Ward 07, Ijabe/Ila-Odo. Though gone too soon, his legacy of service, passion and determination will never be forgotten by the PDP family.
HON. JIMOH ARISEKOLA (Arise): A Loyal Party Man and Servant of the People
On May 11, 2025, Odo-Otin PDP bid farewell to Hon. Jimoh Arisekola, fondly called Arise. As a strong voice from Ward 01 in Okuku, he began his political career as councillor between 2003 and 2007, where he made a lasting impact. Until his passing, he served as Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, carrying out his duties with humility and loyalty.
Hon. Arisekola was a committed party man whose contributions to the PDP in Ward 01 and beyond cannot be forgotten. His positive influence, dedication and sacrifices remain part of the foundation on which the party continues to stand. His memory will always be cherished as a symbol of loyalty and service.
ALHAJA TOYEEBAT OREOLUWA (IYA YOYO): A FEARLESS WOMAN OF IMPACT
On January 5, 2021, Odo-Otin PDP lost one of its most fearless and dynamic leaders, Alhaja Toyeebat Oreoluwa, fondly called Iya Yoyo. She served as Woman Leader in Ward 12, where her hard work, activeness and dedication left an indelible mark. Her courage and passion made her a respected figure not only in Odo-Otin but also across Osun politics.
Iya Yoyo was bold and fearless, never afraid to speak the truth no matter whose interest it challenged. She was also a philanthropist and grassroots mobilizer whose influence touched many lives. Her sudden passing left a vacuum in Inisa politics that is yet to be filled, but her memory continues to inspire strength and courage in our party.
Their Collective Legacy
These six leaders, Chief Akogun Bisi Jinadu, Hon. Rauf Adeola, Hon. Tajudeen Alaka, Alhaja Toyeebat Oreoluwa, Prince Hon. Akinola Oyinlola and Hon. Jimoh Arisekola, were not just political figures. They were leaders of truth, loyalty and service who gave everything for the success of the PDP in Odo-Otin and Osun State.
Their sacrifices remind us that politics is not only about positions but about service, unity and legacy. As we, the Odo-Otin PDP Media Team, celebrate them today, we also recommit ourselves to carrying forward the torch they lit. Their voices may be silent, but their impact continues to speak. Their memories remain a source of strength as we build a stronger PDP and a better future for Odo-Otin.
