Odo-Otin PDP Media Team Congratulates PDP National Delegates in Odo-Otin LG

The Odo-Otin PDP Media Team extends heartfelt congratulations to the newly inaugurated National Delegates in Odo-Otin Local Government.

On behalf of the good people of Odo-Otin Local Government, we congratulate Hon. Rasak Oyelami (KK) and Mr. Taiwo Elijah on their emergence as consensus National Delegates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) representing Odo-Otin Local Government.

The nomination took place in Okuku at the residence of former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who was in attendance alongside the Party Chairman in Odo-Otin, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji. Also present were Baba Raheem Adeleke, Chairman of the PDP Elders’ Caucus in Odo-Otin, Alhaji Salankua Oyedokun, Alhaja Ijadunola (Iyamileko), Hon. Durojaye Aifo, as well as representatives of the State Executive Committee and the Local Executive Committee.

Their emergence is a clear testament to their unwavering dedication, passion, exemplary leadership, and unrelenting commitment to the growth and unity of the PDP, not only in Odo-Otin but also across Osun State.

We further express confidence that both leaders will discharge this noble responsibility with integrity, fairness, and loyalty to the ideals of the party, while ensuring that the voice of Odo-Otin resonates strongly at the national level.

Odo-Otin PDP Holds Peaceful Ward Congress in 13 Wards

The People's Democratic Party (PDP), Odo-Otin Local Government, today successfully conducted its ward congresses in 13 out of the 15 wards across the local government. The exercise, which produced a new set of ward executive members, was peaceful, transparent and well-coordinated, reflecting the unity and strength of our great party.

The Odo-Otin PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, together with members of the Local Executive Committee, personally monitored the congress proceedings across the wards. In every location visited, members conducted themselves with decorum, reaffirming the collective resolve to strengthen the PDP at the grassroots level and consolidate its position as the party of the people in Odo-Otin.

In his remarks, Hon. Olatunji expressed his satisfaction with the outcome of the congresses, saying, "What we have witnessed today is a true reflection of our unity and love for the PDP. I am proud of the peaceful conduct of our members across the wards, and I believe that with this spirit, our party will continue to grow stronger and more united in Odo-Otin."

In a demonstration of transparency and due process, officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) also visited the PDP Collation Centre in Inisa to inspect the activities. The officials present were Mr. Afolabi Yinka, AEO Admin, and Mr. Adekanbi John, AEO Operation, both from the Odo-Otin INEC Office. Their presence further reinforced the credibility of the exercise.

HONOURING MORE FALLEN HEROES OF ODO-OTIN PDP

In furtherance of our commitment to honouring the memory of those who laid the foundation of our great party, the PDP in Odo-Otin continues to celebrate the lives of leaders who stood for truth, service and loyalty. In this edition, we remember six more of our departed heroes whose legacies continue to inspire strength and unity within our ranks.

LATE CHIEF (PRINCE) ADELEKE IFADARE AWOYEMI (ARABA AWO): A ROYAL PILLAR OF JUSTICE AND WISDOM

Born on January 11, 1930, and called to glory on February 26, 2017, Chief (Prince) Adeleke Ifadare Awoyemi, fondly known as Araba Awo, was a true royal son of Okuku, Ward 01. He was a prominent leader of the PDP, a respected member of the Elders’ Caucus and a man who used everything within his reach to fight for the party. He welcomed His Excellency, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, into the PDP, standing firm for justice and truth at every turn.

Chief Awoyemi was a dependable leader whose wisdom often settled disputes and fostered unity within the party in Okuku and across Odo-Otin. His voice carried weight, not just because of his royal lineage but because of his integrity and courage. His life was a beacon of service and his memory remains a source of inspiration to all who continue the struggle he so dearly cherished.

LATE ELDER OWOLABI EZEKIEL DUROJAYE (ALONSO): A FOUNDING FATHER OF PDP IN ODO-OTIN

January 2011 marked the passing of Elder Owolabi Ezekiel Durojaye, popularly known as Alonso, a leader from Ward 01, Okuku. He was one of the founding fathers of the PDP in Odo-Otin, serving as a local executive and playing a key role in the establishment and growth of the party in its early days.

Alonso worked closely with former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, supporting his political ambition and contributing greatly to the party’s strength. He was a great man whose loyalty to the PDP was unwavering. His legacy as a pioneer and builder of the party continues to serve as a guide for those who came after him.

LATE ALHAJI (PRINCE) SULEIMAN OLABISI OLANIYAN: A LIFE OF SERVICE AND LASTING IMPACT

From Oba Otepola’s compound in Inisa, Ward 11, came Alhaji (Prince) Suleiman Olabisi Olaniyan, a leader who dedicated his life to the progress of his people and the PDP. He served as Vice Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government between 1989 and 1992 under the Social Democratic Party, working alongside Hon. Ranti Alabi as Chairman. His service left indelible marks in Odo-Otin and Inisa, making him one of the most trusted leaders of his time. He passed on March 26, 2024.

Alhaji Olaniyan was a reliable and dependable party man, whose love for the PDP was evident in his sacrifices and commitment. He impacted countless lives through his leadership and generosity and his legacy continues to inspire younger generations. His life was one of devotion to the PDP and his memory is treasured by all who knew him.

LATE ALHAJI YISA OMOTOSO (EWA ISLAM): A DEEP THINKER AND LOYAL PARTY STRATEGIST

On March 28, 2018, Odo-Otin PDP lost one of its brightest minds, Alhaji Yisa Omotoso, popularly known as Ewa Islam from Jalugun’s Compound in Inisa, Ward 13. He was a deep thinker, an intelligent leader and a strategist who often brought forward creative ideas and solutions for the party. He served as PDP State Treasurer and later as Director of Administration, leaving behind a record of diligence and service.

Alhaji Omotoso twice aspired to chairmanship positions in 2003 and 2010, reflecting his passion for leadership and service. He was one of the most reliable figures within the PDP and his influence extended beyond his ward to the entire state. His memory lives on as a symbol of loyalty, wisdom and unwavering commitment to the growth of the PDP.

LATE CHIEF YEMI ODENGBENLE (OGA LAGA): THE HUMBLE AND JOVIAL SECRETARY OF WARD 12

Chief Yemi Odegbenle, fondly known as Oga Laga from Oluode’s Compound in Inisa, Ward 12, died on January 16, 2024. He was a man of humility, simplicity and joy. He was always approachable and warm to people, regardless of age or status. His personality endeared him to many and made him a beloved figure in the PDP.

He served as PDP Ward 12 Secretary for over a decade, a role in which he showed competence, commitment and loyalty. His simplicity set him apart and his leadership strengthened the party in Ward 12. Oga Laga's life is a testament to service through humility and his memory remains a blessing to the PDP family.

LATE MRS JOLA LUCIA FATOKI (IYA AAFIN JOLA): A FEARLESS WOMAN OF TRUTH AND GRASSROOTS MOBILIZER

On May 27, 2022, the PDP in Odo-Otin lost a courageous and devoted member in Mrs. Jola Lucia Fatoki, popularly called Iya Aafin Jola from Arina’s compound, Inisa, Ward 12. She was a committed woman who stood firmly for the PDP, mobilising at the grassroots and contributing to the party’s success with her energy and dedication.

Iya Aafin Jola was a cheerful giver and a fearless woman who never hesitated to speak the truth. Her impact in Ward 12 and in Inisa as a whole cannot be forgotten. She lived for her community and her party and her passing left a void that still lingers today. Her memory continues to serve as a source of courage and inspiration for women and men alike within the PDP.

THEIR COLLECTIVE LEGACY

Chief (Prince) Adeleke Ifadare Awoyemi, Elder Owolabi Ezekiel Durojaye, Alhaji (Prince) Suleiman Olabisi Olaniyan, Alhaji Yisa Omotoso, Chief Yemi Odegbenle and Mrs. Jola Lucia Fatoki were leaders who carried the hopes of their people and gave their time, resources and wisdom to the PDP. Though they are no longer with us, their lives remain a reminder that true leadership is measured by sacrifice and impact. Their contributions continue to guide us, their examples continue to inspire us, and their memory continues to strengthen us as a party.

As the Odo-Otin PDP Media Team, we remember all our fallen heroes with gratitude and pride and we celebrate them all as eternal symbols of loyalty, courage and service.

Odo-Otin PDP Receives Hon. Ayobami Ogunwale (Lizzy) and Over 50 Opposition Members into the Party

The strength of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin Local Government received a powerful boost today as Hon. (Mrs) Ayobami Ogunwale, popularly known as Lizzy, a former councillorship aspirant under the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ward 07, Ijabe/Ila-Odo, officially joined the PDP with over 50 committed opposition members. The event, marked by joy and solidarity, was a clear demonstration of the steady rise of the PDP as the party of choice in Odo-Otin and Osun State at large.

The defectors were warmly welcomed by the PDP family under the leadership of the Odo-Otin Party Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, and the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Kayode Abdulrasheed Aderibigbe (Asendo), alongside other prominent leaders of the party.

In his remarks, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji said, "We are thrilled to welcome Hon. (Mrs) Ayobami Ogunwale (Lizzy), and over 50 strong members of APC, who have chosen to join our great party. Their decision shows that the PDP is the true home of progress and inclusiveness in Osun State. Together, we will continue to build a stronger future for the people of Odo-Otin."

Speaking on behalf of the defectors, Hon. (Mrs) Ayobami Ogunwale (Lizzy) expressed her joy at the move: "We are excited to become members of the PDP, a party whose values and vision align with ours. The ceremony brought together many prominent leaders and stakeholders of the party in Odo-Otin, including Hon. Adewale Adeyinka, the Executive Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government; Hon. Suraju Omoniyi, the Vice Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. Jide Oyediran, who represented the Speaker of the Osun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun; State Excos such as Alhaja Bosede Lawal and Hon. Sunday Akala; Hon. Zacchaeus Alabi, Hon. Femi Idowu, Hon. Segun Ilufoye (Olowoaye), Hon. Oyelade Omoniyi Ibrahim (Dendey), and Alfa Folorunso Akeem.

Also in attendance were respected leaders of Ward 07, Ijabe/Ila-Odo, such as, Hon. Timothy Idowu (Ward Chairman), Hon. Saheed Eye (Ward Councillor), Mr Sunday, Mr. Moses Hassan, Adebayo Taiwo, Mr. Abioye Elisa, Mr. Adeyemo Gideon, Muabi Basirat, Bose Samuel, Mr. Cassava Hammed, Mr. Ogunniran Sunday, and Mr. Samuel Ayomide.

HONOURING THE FALLEN HEROES OF ODO-OTIN PDP

In every struggle, there are men and women who stand tall, carry the banner with courage, and give their strength to ensure victory for generations to come. In Odo-Otin PDP, we are blessed with leaders whose sacrifices, service and loyalty have shaped our history and strengthened our unity. Today, we remember six of our departed heroes whose legacies will forever remain in our hearts.

CHIEF AKOGUN BISI JINADU: A RARE GEM AND FOUNDING PILLAR OF ODO-OTIN PDP

On August 8, 2016, Odo-Otin and Osun PDP lost a giant, Chief Akogun Bisi Jinadu of Subokun’s compound, Ward 12, Inisa. He was one of the founding fathers of the PDP and a central figure whose influence reached beyond Odo-Otin to Osun State and Nigeria at large. He served as Chairman of the PDP Elders’ Caucus in Odo-Otin, where his wisdom, honesty and courage guided many.

Chief Jinadu was known for his bravery, brilliance and uncompromising commitment to the truth. A philanthropist who was always accommodating, he touched countless lives with his generosity and leadership. His impact in the politics of Odo-Otin, especially Ward 12, was profound, making him a determinant factor in the survival and growth of the PDP. Truly, he was a rare gem whose legacy endures.

PRINCE HON. AKINOLA OYINLOLA (BABA ISALE): A PILLAR OF LEADERSHIP AND SERVICE

In December 2021, the PDP lost a highly respected elder, Prince Hon. Akinola Oyinlola, fondly called Baba Isale. As a prominent leader from Ward 01 in Okuku and elder brother to former Osun State Governor, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Baba Isale was known for his leadership qualities, wisdom and philanthropy.

He was a member of the Elders’ Caucus in Odo-Otin. He was accommodating, accessible and generous, always offering guidance and support for the unity of the party. His contributions strengthened the PDP and inspired many younger politicians. Baba Isale’s life of service and generosity remains a shining example of leadership in Odo-Otin.

HON. RAUF ADEOLA: A COMMITTED PARTYMAN AND LEADER WORTHY OF EMULATION

On May 7, 2025, Odo-Otin PDP lost a loyal pillar in Hon. Rauf Adeola from Ward 14, Oyan. He began his political journey as a councillor between 1999 and 2003 and later served as Senior Special Assistant to Governor Ademola Adeleke. In every role, he proved himself dependable and deeply committed to the ideals of the party.

Hon. Adeola was a true party man whose loyalty never wavered. He often sacrificed his personal resources to mobilise for the PDP and ensure its success. His dedication and contributions remain unforgettable, making him a leader worthy of emulation and an example of selfless service to the people.

HON. TAJUDEEN ALAKA: VIBRANT, ENERGETIC AND CHARISMATIC

The sudden passing of Hon. Tajudeen Alaka on April 22, 2024, was a painful blow to Odo-Otin PDP. He served as a member of the LGEA Board in Odo-Otin, where he worked tirelessly to advance the cause of the party. Known for his passion and determination, he set himself apart as a leader who poured his energy into building a stronger PDP.

Hon. Alaka was vibrant, brilliant and charismatic. His tireless commitment and rigorous work for the party inspired others, particularly in Ward 07, Ijabe/Ila-Odo. Though gone too soon, his legacy of service, passion and determination will never be forgotten by the PDP family.

HON. JIMOH ARISEKOLA (Arise): A Loyal Party Man and Servant of the People

On May 11, 2025, Odo-Otin PDP bid farewell to Hon. Jimoh Arisekola, fondly called Arise. As a strong voice from Ward 01 in Okuku, he began his political career as councillor between 2003 and 2007, where he made a lasting impact. Until his passing, he served as Special Adviser to Governor Ademola Adeleke, carrying out his duties with humility and loyalty.

Hon. Arisekola was a committed party man whose contributions to the PDP in Ward 01 and beyond cannot be forgotten. His positive influence, dedication and sacrifices remain part of the foundation on which the party continues to stand. His memory will always be cherished as a symbol of loyalty and service.

ALHAJA TOYEEBAT OREOLUWA (IYA YOYO): A FEARLESS WOMAN OF IMPACT

On January 5, 2021, Odo-Otin PDP lost one of its most fearless and dynamic leaders, Alhaja Toyeebat Oreoluwa, fondly called Iya Yoyo. She served as Woman Leader in Ward 12, where her hard work, activeness and dedication left an indelible mark. Her courage and passion made her a respected figure not only in Odo-Otin but also across Osun politics.

Iya Yoyo was bold and fearless, never afraid to speak the truth no matter whose interest it challenged. She was also a philanthropist and grassroots mobilizer whose influence touched many lives. Her sudden passing left a vacuum in Inisa politics that is yet to be filled, but her memory continues to inspire strength and courage in our party.

Their Collective Legacy

These six leaders, Chief Akogun Bisi Jinadu, Hon. Rauf Adeola, Hon. Tajudeen Alaka, Alhaja Toyeebat Oreoluwa, Prince Hon. Akinola Oyinlola and Hon. Jimoh Arisekola, were not just political figures. They were leaders of truth, loyalty and service who gave everything for the success of the PDP in Odo-Otin and Osun State.

Their sacrifices remind us that politics is not only about positions but about service, unity and legacy. As we, the Odo-Otin PDP Media Team, celebrate them today, we also recommit ourselves to carrying forward the torch they lit. Their voices may be silent, but their impact continues to speak. Their memories remain a source of strength as we build a stronger PDP and a better future for Odo-Otin.

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin Local Government today held a crucial stakeholders’ meeting at the residence of former Osun State Governor, His Excellency, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, in Okuku. The meeting was presided over by the Party Chairman, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, and well attended by party stakeholders across the fifteen wards of Odo-Otin, reflecting the unity and strength of the PDP family in the local government.

In attendance were notable leaders including His Excellency, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Hon. Kayode Abdulrasheed Aderibigbe, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, the PDP Party Chairman, Hon. Adewale Adeyinka, the Executive Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government, Hon. The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Odo-Otin Local Government Area has officially welcomed Hon. Adekunle Adeoti, a Dublin-based politician from Ward 09, Asi/Asaba, along with his family, into the party. This move marks another boost to the PDP’s growing influence in Odo-Otin, as more people continue to see the party as the right platform for genuine leadership and service.

The reception, held at Inisa, the Party Headquarters in Odo-Otin, brought together prominent party leaders and stakeholders. Among those present were Hon. Taiwo Olatunji, the PDP Party Chairman in Odo-Otin; Hon. Adewale Adeyinka, the Executive Chairman of Odo-Otin Local Government; Alhaja Bosede Lawal; Hon. Sunday Akala; Alhaji Muritala Olabisi (Aare); Hon. Durojaye Aifo; Hon. Adetoyi Diji; Hon. Olaosebikan Hammed, PDP Secretary in Odo-Otin; Ward Chairmen across the local government; and members of the Local Executive Committee.

Party leaders expressed their happiness over Hon. Adeoti’s decision to join with his family, emphasizing the value they bring to the growth and progress of the PDP. They also gave special recognition to Rt. Hon. Prince Adewale Olumide Egbedun, whose support and influence played a major role in Hon. Adeoti’s decision to join the party.

In celebration of outstanding commitment and leadership, the Odo-Otin PDP Media Team proudly showcases four remarkable leaders who have made invaluable contributions to building the party's strength and legacy,

HON. MICHAEL ADETOYI ADEYINKA

Hon. Michael Adetoyi Adeyinka is a prominent leader from Ward 15, Oyan, in Odo-Otin Local Government. He previously served as a member of the House of Assembly from 2019 to 2023 under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) before defecting to the People’s Democratic Party. His experience in the House of Assembly has equipped him with valuable insights into governance and legislative processes.

Currently, he holds a position as a member of the House of Assembly Service Commission, where he is expected to leverage his legislative experience to drive effective governance and service delivery. With his background and expertise, Hon. Adeyinka is well-positioned to contribute to the development of Osun State and serve the people of Odo-Otin Local Government.

COMRADE BAMIDELE ADENIYI SUNDAY (ZANGARUWA)

Comrade Bamidele Adeniyi Sunday, popularly known as Zangaruwa, is a seasoned politician and activist from Ward 03, Igbaye, Odo-Otin Local Government. He earned the nickname "Zangaruwa" in 1994 during a notable struggle on campus, a name that has stuck and remains widely recognized. Comrade Zangaruwa's political journey began in Offa, Kwara State, in 1998, where he worked with the late Pa Olusola Saraki in the ANPP and served as a councillor representing Esa A Ward in Offa Local Government. He later relocated to Osun State in 2004 and contested for Local Government Chairman under the AD party in 2005/2006. After the election, he joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Over the years, Comrade Zangaruwa has held various notable positions, including Special Adviser to the Osun State Government under Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola (2007), Director of Planning and Strategy for Osun PDP under Alhaji Gani Olaoluwa (2011), and Party Director of Mobilization under Hon. Soji Adagunodo (2017). He has also served as the Youth Leader of the Osun State Social Democratic Party (SDP) in 2020 and was a member of the Education Board in the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2021. Currently, he serves as one of the Special Assistants to Governor Ademola Adeleke, a position he took up after returning to the PDP in 2022.

CHIEF NATHANIEL YEMI AKINOLA

Chief Nathaniel Yemi Akinola is a respected leader and elder statesman of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) from Ward 11, Inisa, in Odo-Otin Local Government. Recognized for his exceptional leadership qualities, he is one of the foremost leaders of the party in Inisa. His dedication to the party's ideals and his community has earned him a reputation as a stalwart figure in local politics.

Currently, he serves as a member of the Rent Tribunal Board in Osun State, a position he was appointed to by Governor Ademola Adeleke. This appointment is a testament to his expertise and commitment to public service, and he continues to contribute to the development of Osun State through his role on the board.

ALHAJI IBRAHIM SOLADOYE (OREKE)

Alhaji Ibrahim Soladoye, popularly known as Oreke, is a veteran politician from Ward 11, Inisa, in Odo-Otin Local Government. With a political career spanning several decades, he joined politics during the Second Republic as a member of the National Party of Nigeria (NPN), where he was part of the party's youth wing.

Alhaji Oreke has held various notable positions, including serving as the secretary of the National Republican Convention (NRC) at Olukotun Ward, Inisa, and later as secretary of the United Nigeria Congress Party (UNCP) at the same ward. He was also one of the delegates elected for the 1993 constitutional conference and was recognized as one of the party's youth leaders in the town.

As a founding member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in 1999, Alhaji Oreke has played key roles within the party, serving as the secretary for Olukotun Ward in Inisa for many years. He currently holds the position of Four Wards Coordinator of the party in Inisa, reflecting his enduring commitment to PDP and his community.
