THE SIGNIFICANCE OF HOLY THURSDAY

Except for the resurrection on Easter, Holy Thursday is possibly one of the most important, complex, and profound days of celebration in the Catholic Church. Holy Thursday celebrates the institution of the Eucharist as the true body and blood of Jesus Christ and the institution of the sacrament of the priesthood.

During the Last Supper, Jesus offers himself as the Passover sacrifice, the sacrificial lamb, and teaches that every ordained priest is to follow the same sacrifice in the exact same way. Christ also bids farewell to his followers and prophesizes that one of them will betray him and hand him over to the Roman soldiers.

Around the world, Bishops and priests come together at their local Cathedrals on Holy Thursday morning to celebrate the institution of the priesthood. During the Mass, the bishop blesses the Oil of Chrism that will be used for Baptism, Confirmation, and Anointing of the sick or dying.

At this Mass, the bishop washes the feet of twelve priests to symbolize Christ’s washing of his twelve Apostles, our first bishops and priests.

Later that night, after sundown – because Passover began at sundown- the Holy Thursday Liturgy takes place, marking the end of Lent and the beginning of the sacred "Triduum,” or three, of Holy Week. These days are the three holiest days in the Catholic Church.

This Mass stresses the importance Jesus puts on the humility of service, and the need for cleansing with water, a symbol of baptism. Also emphasized are the critical importance of the Eucharist and the sacrifice of Christ’s Body, which we now find present in the consecrated Host.

At the conclusion of the Mass, the faithful are invited to continue Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament throughout the night, just as the disciples were invited to stay up with the Lord during His agony in the garden before His betrayal by Judas.

After Holy Thursday, no Mass will be celebrated again in the Church until the Easter Vigil celebrates and proclaims the Resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ

HOW EVIL LINGERS AND HOW TO RESOLVE IT.

The world we are in today has made life seem uncomfortable for the good ones and very simple for the bad ones. Over the air, it was said that when you go to a party, people who spread money in the air are the ones who never sweated to get their money rather than people who became rich through shortcuts.

I am not dwelling basically on that; instead, I want to narrate the ordeal of the day. Philip, how are you?, the voice sounded, am fine Boss. Please can you tell me what I will eat? Yes Boss, but what should I get for you?. When you get to the restaurant, you let me know what they have. Alright Boss. Stepping out again the boss called again, Emeka, Yes Boss. Sorry I called, the boss said. This incident reminded me of those days when my grandmother used to call on one excessively, and we ended up becoming angry without knowing why. But then, you can go. Do as I said. Yes, Boss Philip responded.

While climbing the staircase, Philip was imagining and reflecting on what the boss said; basically, When he asked him to go and his apologies, then his last statements; he doesn’t want another to suffer the same thing he suffered and disliked back then.

Hence, wouldn’t society be a paradise if everyone saw life like this, my boss, that because you suffered from abuse doesn’t mean you will have to abuse another? That you were hurt at a certain level of your life doesn’t mean you will retaliate to another.

Beloved, this correction starts from you and from me. Looking around your immediate place of assignment, do you think that the love, the hate, and the enmity are a result of what happened to you many years back or what you have created? If the air blowing around you is the air of your past encounter, then make an effort to halt it. Allow love to reign; let love in your place of work and in all that you do.

WICKEDNESS BEFORE THE JUNCTION

Please, my husband, let us pray as you journey through the weekend.

As Mr. Chuks was moving not much distance from his apartment, a young lady was at the roadside and seeking a lift to the next two junctions. It happened that Mr. Chuks was also moving in the same direction. When he opted to give her a lift, she tried entering, but a force pushed her back, and she ran back to her position and gave a relenting sign that Mr Chuks should go his way.

When her friend rushed out from the bush to ask what happened, she lamented that the man must be a ritualist, ocultic, or demonic because the measure of power he carries is unrecognizable because it’s Almighty.

Mr. Chuks could not understand what happened but remembered the prayer of the wife before he set off that God should guide, protect, and bring the husband a safe home.
Dear wives, ranting oftentimes is not the best thing; suspecting every trip your husband makes is not the best option. Instead, be steadfast, trust, and pray for them now and always for the lord to keep, guide, protect, and bring your husband back safe each time and always from their trips.

Happy Birthday Kid Sis (Lady C)

The world is filled with many contradictions, life is filled with challenges but with understanding one can easily overcome all.

Beloved sis, if the word understanding is a being you are the being, and in you is found the fullness of glory and one pointing towards a direction and moving towards the same direction.

I pray for you today, may your desires be granted to you, may your goals be achieved and may your longings be satisfied.

A happy birthday to you Nwannem. Celebrate this month of love because it’s your month nwannem.

Are you not tired of being tired?

Looking at the street every day will send a clear message that people are never tired. The people striving continue to persist amid the obstacles on the way. Each time the road seems blocked, people still discover another root that they thought couldn’t have been available.

David could not have been lazy, and neither is he not hard working at any point. He was born into a family where his mother was the 19th, and he was the first son from his mother’s womb regardless of the sum of 5 other junior ones. Growing up in such a family made him determined to work hard to sustain himself, his mother, and other siblings. He did virtually all the work in the village; he hunted, tapped wine, worked at people’s farms, and did all other jobs available.

Returning from his late evening setting of traps, he met his bosom friend; when his friend saw him, he approached him and said, you are a hard-working man, but are you not afraid of being tired? David was wondering why the sudden question and his friend continued, you have let yourself do virtually all the work just to sustain your side of the family of 35 wives and have made your younger ones so dependent that if you are not to be found, what you are afraid will happen.

He couldn’t reply to his friend because his question was a heavy one. On the other hand, it was eye-opening for him. When he arrived at the house, he summoned his young ones and mother, addressing them on the necessity to be up and doing, especially when it comes to sustenance.

Dearest, do not work yourself to death; that doesn’t mean you should be lazy; do not assume you are tired because it’s a sole scamming. Do not work alone to feed many mouths that can’t do anything for themselves. Rather, empower them to start up something and move on. Even when you are truly tired, remember you still need to encourage yourself to move on because you will not survive being tired alone.
Be careful, Be watchful, and Be agile.

2025 Plan Done Already.

I know by now many are still struggling with how to go about what they said in the late days of 2024. On the 28th of December of each year, you will see a lot of people walking down the lonely parts with paper and pen, some going to churches, some to monasteries, and others to the bush. All these acts are just to get together what they plan to achieve, quit, or get to in the coming year.
Though many would seem not to care but inside of, they know that it’s time to get ready for what is coming the next year.
Could it be that the assumption of this friend of mine is true? He said that every year, we hope for the best, and it plays out worse, maybe it's better to hope for nothing and see how it plays out. In Nigeria, many would and will buy this notion because it seems to be a yearly occurrence, but hope is not to be killed because what is hoped for turned out to be another thing.

Any time one fails to plan, he or she plans to fail. Let me tease you, do you even know that not planning is planning in itself while planning is also planning. This is just the explanation of the above statement: each time you decide not to plan, you have already planned not to plan, and each time you decide to plan, you just did the planning, so the best choice and option is to plan always.

2025 is 6 days old, and you have already done things you said you would not do; you have broken the covenants you made, and you have resolved to continue that the promises made don’t matter, but I tell you. Do not be stupid; get off those ideal thoughts and go for what you desire. Get to your working documents, and get back to those things you said you would do. Even the ones you don’t know how to go about, ask those who specialize in it. When you keep mute you keep your goal mute. There is nothing you will do that has not been done here on earth, and that is why you will seek help from those who have been where you desire to attain so that you will manifest in no distant time.

As you have planned, follow it up; if the part fails, seek guidance and re-plan, and if you are yet to plan, plan today.

Chuks and Ejike's Decision

It is no longer a story or a tale that a good man suddenly deviated and embraced doing the wrong that everyone least expected from him or her.

Life truly can happen to anyone, no matter your level or the position you are in today. The happening of life could be positive or negative. Often, what we see around us is negative happenings.

Mr. Chuks and Ejike have been childhood friends till their late 40s when they decided to venture into the impossible just to be noticed. The impossible here is not in a strict sense anyway, but they decided to go through the part of money ritual since it seems no way is opening anytime soon, and for them, there is no time by their side.

Behold, after a while, Ejike changed his mind, that the part they are considering could be their end and a short-term contract even if it works out, but Chuks have taken the decision, and for him, nothing on earth could stop him.

Mr. Chuks became very rich after the burial of his junior brother whom he did utilize for his ambitions. He was driving different types of cars ranging from least to the highest.
He also vowed not to spend a dime on his friend Ejike since he had decided to play holy at the very point of his answered prayers. But Ejike, on the other hand, had decided not to touch, eat, or dine with him either, since he knew the very source of his wealth and riches.

Mr. Chuks enjoyed only for 15 months and gave up the ghost as that is the agreement in exchange for wealth. But Ejike went into Poultry and by the mercies of God, he expanded and extended beyond the expectations of his people. Assertively, he got favoured.

When he organized a thanksgiving service in honor of his life journey, narrating his friend's choices and his, everyone in attendance was amazed and could not hold back their emotions.

It is of ultimate importance to note that shortcuts are short life, and a part that is not straight doesn’t have a good end. Though it’s tough today with patience, the good one desires will surely come.

Until it’s over.

Imagine sleeping and you had a dream, upon waking up you woke up in another dream and a step further you woke up also in another dream. What could be your reaction when you finally woke up and discovered you were still alive.

Someone answered and said, I will surrender all because it’s truly a chance to make up but another said it’s delusional and imaginary as it is.

But I tell, the matters of this life is beyond just what we perceive with the senses. The senses may feel okay but the source of what we are may be in shambles.

Reality is not modelling neither is it a show or a game. Smartness and hardworking are Interconnected but that is for those who are still breathing.

So, as you are still granted this gift of life utilize it for good and don’t defile it or play with it because in no distant time the opportunity may cease.

Lets celebrate Him this day, the king of the multiverse. Jesus Christ.

The World is Like A Bus?

When you look at the highway during the day one is presented with a reality that seems strange. But looking at the same reality another time, a separate reality is presented. This could be perfectly seen in. A bus of 18 passengers with a driver, while the driver drives, people seem to have a different reality after the journey, if questions like: how was the trip? I hope the trip went well. Or still, how is the street/road you came from?

The set sitting at the right alignment of the vehicle will present a separate reality with every other person sitting at other alignments of the vehicle. Yet, there remains a reality common to everyone, and that reality is that the bus has set off and has reached their destination.

Dear reader, the world is like this bus, where people are aligned at different locations; the reality for the white one is separate from that of the black, the reality for the old is separate from that of the young, same also, the reality for the southerners is separate for the Easterner.

If you have this at the back of your mind, then you don’t have to be pi**ed off when people are expecting what, in reality, you cannot offer to them. Maybe when they look at you, they see a reality separate from the reality you truly are.

But then, work on every side of this reality, perfect your sphere, do not be a burden to your generation rather be a solution. People can only come to you because of the solution you can offer and what you carry. If you are worthless, useless, or just a consumer, then people may see you as a burden, but when you create, think, invest, and solve problems, you become even more relevant to your generation.

Keep up in the struggle, because the reality seems thus, but soon, an inevitable change will come, and things will be as sweet as desired.

Normality Vs Abnormality in Nigeria

According to Oxford Languages, normality is conformity to the standard, typical, or average level, rate, condition, or set of conditions, characteristics, behavior, etc. It is the state of being normal, stable, and essentially being aligned towards doing the right thing always.

Just at the time I had just finished my early morning duties, my phone rang and it was my friend Clara. Clara, how are you? Am not fine she responded; I quickly cheered in; not being fine is normal in the country now, while abnormality seems to be the right thing.

When the call ended, I was tempted to ask if my initial statement was right or wrong. In a country called Nigeria, if you are normal, you are considered abnormal, and when you are abnormal, you are considered normal.

Should everyone then change from the right axis just to prove that the wrong is better? One who is molested for skipping a document will not care to get another the next day; instead, he or she will get ready to sort his/her way out.

Hence, the good will always be the good, truth will always be the truth because righteousness is like light that darkness can never comprehend.

Electricity Tariff Hike

Service-Based Tariff (SBT) is a scheme introduced by the Commission on the 1st of November 2020 to improve service delivery to end-user Customers and ensure that electricity tariffs paid by end-user Customers are a reflection of the services delivered by the Distribution Companies based on the number of hours of electricity supply per day.

Under the SBT, consumers are classified in Bands A to E as follows:

Band A: Minimum of 20 Hours
Band B: Minimum of 16 Hours
Band C: Minimum of 12 Hours
Band D: Minimum of 8 Hours
Band E: Minimum of 4 Hours

However, it is no longer a news that the whole of Ebonyi state has been moved to Band A in which the number of power supply can attest to that. But that is essentially taking decioon behalf of the people without proper consideration of it’s effect.

Recharge the prepaid metre we use in the office and going back the next 42 hours and 222units is exhausted gave me a concern on what necessary is the cause that 50,000 recharge cannot last long.

Speaking with one of the Rec members, she informed me that, previously the metre charge rate was 32 units per 1000, late 2023, it was increased to 17units per 1000, but presently, it’s 4 units per 1000 and 2 units per 1000 for those that are owing arrears.

Stepping further, charging everyone in a geographical location at the same rate is not good, imagine where a farmer and an organisation is charged at the same rate. Interacting with a civil servant, he lamented that that recharge of 10,000 is no longer enough for just a week. And amid all this the cost of other things are also high.

Moreso, can one possibly related whose duty it is to replace or repair the transformers. Some of the mind bubbling questions are: If the mast of the network providers spoils do they wait for the individuals at that location to contribute money and repair it, of course not, since the people are indirectly charged by the services the consumed, they see it as their obligations to repair when there us spoilage. But why is it that when the transformer of a certain location is spoilt they people will be tasked to contribute for the repairs. If the law says so, then there is need to reconsider that because the payment being made will be unnecessary since the consumer still do the repairs.

Conclusively, the cost of living in this nation Nigeria is quite hard, relatively to all aspects. It is wrong to take certain decisions without the consent of the people or such as movement of everyone to Band A. It is also important to note that the repairs should be done by the organisation and not tasking the consumers each time there is fault. Though the whole idea is to make the nation better but the nation still needs living humans to still be a nation.
