AN INSPECTION VISIT TO UNION SECONDARY SCHOOL AGUEKE ISU ONICHA LGA EBONYI STATE
Union Secondary School Agueke Isu, Onicha LGA Ebonyi State happens to be a school that once held so much promise for the future of its pupils.
On our visit to inspect the school today, we discovered it struggles to keep pace with the growing needs of education due to the lack of adequate government facilities and effective management support.
The classrooms are overcrowded, with broken desks and leaking roofs that make learning uncomfortable, especially during this rainy season. The library is empty of relevant books, while the science laboratory has little more than empty shelves. Even basic necessities such as water supply, sanitation facilities, and reliable electricity remain a daily challenge for both teachers and students.
This has led to a decline in academic performance and morale among students who still dream of a brighter future despite their current realities.
The situation is not just a concern for the school, but for the entire community, as education is the backbone of development. A child denied quality education today becomes an adult denied opportunity tomorrow.
Therefore, this is a heartfelt call to government agencies, private organizations, non-governmental bodies, and well-meaning individuals to come to the aid of this school. With proper facilities, effective management, and genuine support, the school can once again fulfill its role as a center of learning and hope for generations to come.
As we all knew, education is a right, not a privilege. No child should have to learn under such difficult conditions. The time to act is now.
