I can’t tell you what business to start because that depends on you - your passion, your skill set, your work. However, I can help you come up with the right questions to ask yourself.

Please note that the list is non exhaustive, but really useful when starting a company.

✨✨What is your intended customer base? It is harder to target a broad and general audience - try to establish a niche customer base which needs your products and/or services.

✨✨What problem does your service/product solve? Identifying a problem and providing a solution is the heart of every innovative idea.

✨✨How can you add value to the product and customer experience? Your customers need to gain benefit from purchasing your goods/services.

✨✨What are the most unusual characteristics of your business which will give you competitive advantage on the market? Establishing yourself in the market means you need some advantage over your competitors to attract their customers or new ones.

Have you researched your competition? In what ways do you feel you can do better than the competition? You need to know who are you facing to understand your market share, and how can you provide better solutions.

Does your idea already exist in the same way you were going to create it? Refer to competition again - is your idea approach unique?
Do you have access to all the resources you need to launch the business? This includes funding, manpower, premises, equipment etc.

What is the size of the market? Do your research!
What would it take to create a minimum viable product and test it on the market? You don’t need a finished product to launch, start small and test your ideas.

What will it take to make profit? You need to have at least some estimated financial projections as to what you need to spend and what you need to earn in order to break even and then make a profit.

Is the problem you are trying to solve on the top priority list of the potential customers? Important consideration to see whether your products will sell.
Have you considered a marketing strategy to spread the word about your product? How do you plan on capturing the attention of your potential customers?

What is your business model? How do you plan on charging your customers, how do your competitors do it, can you create additional revenue streams?
Is there a potential for growth? Thin in the long term, can you scale the business further?

What are the possible roadblocks you are likely to face? You should attempt to find a solution for each problem you can think of.

Have you chosen a business name? Make sure that your name is descriptive of the branding and targets your customers. Ask people their input - choosing a name is an important matter as it will affect the rest of your branding.
Have you looked for your business name online? Ensure that no other business can be confused with yours. Ensure that the domain name and all social media accounts for your business name are available.

1. Respect Every Dollar

Wealth doesn’t come from how much you make, it comes from how much you keep.

Every dollar has a purpose:

Save it.

Invest it.

Grow it.

People who don’t respect small money will never respect big money.

If you waste $10 without thinking, you’ll waste $1,000 the same way.

Wealth begins with discipline at the smallest level.

2. Stop Competing, Abundance Over Scarcity

Money isn’t a race. It’s not “you win, I lose.”

There’s enough money in the world for everyone. The economy isn’t a fixed pie, wealth can be created.

The scarcity mindset makes you jealous, envious, and bitter.

The abundance mindset makes you creative, collaborative, and focused on growth.

Stop competing with your friends and neighbors. Focus on building your own lane.

3. Learn the Language of Wealth

Money has its own language:

Assets (things that put money in your pocket).

Liabilities (things that take money out).

Cash Flow (the movement of money in and out).

If you don’t understand this language, money will always be a mystery to you.

Study it daily: read books, watch lectures, follow investors, track your own finances.

The more fluent you become in the language of money, the easier it is to attract and manage wealth.

4. Pay Yourself First

This is one of the oldest and most powerful money rules.

Before you spend on bills, entertainment, or luxuries, set aside money for your future self.

Save.

Invest.

Build assets.

This flips the script. Instead of working only to survive today, you’re working to secure your future.

Banks will give you an umbrella…

And take it back the moment it starts to rain.

One of the biggest mistakes I see (especially from young people) is taking on debt to start a business or go to uni.

It’s a trap. And it will kill your dream.

I recently spoke to someone running a product business with small margins.

They were about to take out a bank loan to cover stock.

Instead, I told them to try speaking gigs.

They’re an inspiring person, so why not get paid to speak?

They did just that.

Now they don’t need the loan AND they get to promote their business while being paid to share their story.

That’s what I mean by being resourceful over reliant.

There’s no such thing as good debt or bad debt.

It’s just debt.

And when you’re in it…

You’re not working for yourself anymore.

You’re working for whoever you borrowed from.

They don’t teach financial literacy in school for a reason.
They want you in the system, working for them.

Don’t fall for it.

Be creative. There are always ways to make extra money…

Just because you aren’t taught them in school, doesn’t mean they don’t exist.

BY AGE 40 YOU SHOULD BE SMART ENOUGH TO REALIZE THIS:

1. Someone makes 10x more than you do in a 9-5 job because they have more "leverage" with their work.

2. Distraction is the greatest killer of success. It stunts and destroys your brain.

3. You shouldn't take advice from people who are not where you want to be in life.

4. No one is coming to save your problems. Your life's 100% your responsibility.

5. You don't need 100 self-help books, all you need is action and self discipline.

6. Unless you went to college to learn a specific skill (ie. doctor, engineer, lawyer), you can make more money in the next 90 days just learning sales.

7. No one cares about you. So stop being shy, go out and create your chances.

8. If you find someone smarter than you, work with them, don't compete.

9. Smoking has 0 benefit in your life. This habit will only slow your thinking and lower your focus.

10. Comfort is the worst addiction and cheap ticket to depression.

11. Don't tell people more than they need to know, respect your privacy.

12. Avoid alcohol at all cost. Nothing worse than losing your senses and acting a fool.

13. Keep your standards high and don't settle for something because it's available.

14. The family you create is more important than the family you come from.

15. Train yourself to take nothing personally to save yourself from 99.99% of mental problems.

School taught us to fear failure.

Punished us for it...

Until we became scared to even try.

They made failure feel final.

But it’s not.

Failure is one of life’s greatest teachers.

It’s never the end... it’s the beginning of growth.

Would I be where I am now without being homeless first?

Not a chance.

If you fear failure…

You’re actually fearing success.

Because there’s no path to success that doesn’t run through failure first.

School didn’t teach us that.

So now we have millions of people afraid to even start.

But inaction is FAR worse than imperfect action.

Doing something wrong teaches you more than doing nothing at all.

There is no going backwards.

Only going forward in a different direction.School taught us to fear failure.

Punished us for it...

Until we became scared to even try.

They made failure feel final.

But it’s not.

Failure is one of life’s greatest teachers.
