VERBAL ABUSE: "It’s Just Words" – No, It’s Not!
Hey there, my Christian fam! 👋
Let’s talk about something that doesn’t leave physical scars…
But it can leave the heart completely shattered. 💔
Yes, I’m talking about verbal abuse — those painful words that cut deeper than a slap.
You know the type:
– "You’re useless!"
– "Why can’t you be like your sister?"
– "God won’t even use someone like you."
– Or the famous Nigerian classic: "Nothing good can come out of you!" 😩
Let me say it LOUD for the people at the back —
Verbal abuse is still abuse.
Words carry life and death (Proverbs 18:21), and many are bleeding because of what’s been said to them for years!
🧠 What is verbal abuse?
– Constant yelling
– Insults
– Mockery or name-calling
– Harsh criticism in the name of “tough love”
– “Jokes” that break confidence
Even if it’s coming from a parent, pastor, leader, friend — it’s not okay.
🕊️ *lHere’s what God says:
– You are fearfully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14)
– His words to you are full of grace and truth
– He doesn’t tear down — He builds up!
✅ So what can you do?
1. Don’t believe the lies — Match every bad word with what God says about you.
2. Speak up when needed — Silence keeps wounds hidden.
3. Guard your space — Even Jesus left Nazareth when they didn’t believe in Him.
4. Be different — Use your words to build, not break others.
💡 Let’s build a generation that speaks life, truth, and grace.
If someone says, “You’ll never make it” — smile and say, “Watch what God will do!” 😌🔥
You are not your scars. You are not their words.
You are who God says you are.
