Earlier today His Excellency, The Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, has today inaugurated "The Taraba State Agriculture and Food Sustainability Committee" to boost food production by effectively utilizing the natural resources that make Taraba State the nation's gift and food basket.

The inauguration has in attendance the deputy governor, senator's, speaker of the house of representatives, commissioners, stakeholders and members of the public.

The committee is chaired by HRH Abbas Tafida, the emir of Muri.

"Nigeria's United Nations Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator - Mr. Mathias Schmale was in Jalingo, today. During our engagements, I expressed Taraba's interest in collaborating with International Organizations, in harnessing the ever present Resources to further promote development in our Ecosystem.

In the meeting, I highlighted the significance of addressing food security, improving healthcare delivery, advancing Education, fostering peace building initiatives, and tackling environmental challenges in the State.
