Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State graced the grand finale of the TASAGA 2024 Concert, held at the First MBCN Baptist Church in Gembu yesterday.

The event, themed "Better Is A Day With You," showcased performances by the TASAGA Mass Choir and other choirs, celebrating gospel music and spiritual fellowship.

In his address, Governor Kefas extended his gratitude to the leadership of the First MBCN Baptist Church and the Taraba State Association of Gospel Artists (TASAGA) for the invitation.

He also commended the executive Chairman of Sardauna Local Government Council for his support of the concert and announced that Sardauna would become the new headquarters for TASAGA in the State.

Drawing from Psalm 84:1-12 in his sermon, titled "Uprooting the Vulture in Closed Places,"

Governor Kefas reflected on the challenges faced by David and his deep longing for the presence of the Lord. He encouraged believers to earnestly seek God’s presence, particularly during difficult times, and reassured them of God’s attentiveness to their prayers.

The concert was attended by several dignitaries, including the Secretary to the Government of the State, Chief Barr. G. T. Kataps, former Speaker of the Taraba State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (DCN) Abel P. Diah, as well as members of the State House of Assembly and various Commissioners.

Today Friday 12th July Dr. Agbu Kefas presided over a significant PDP Caucus Meeting in Jalingo, focusing on the upcoming Congresses and Delegate Elections.

Emphasizing the importance of delineating politics from governance to foster societal development, Governor Kefas conveyed his gratitude to key party supporters for their backing during his inaugural year.

Governor Agbu Kefas Inspects Mararraba - Baissa - Abong Road Project

On Thursday, the Governor of Taraba State, Dr. Agbu Kefas, continued his proactive approach to ensuring the completion of state projects by inspecting the ongoing Mararraba - Baissa - Abong road project.

During his visit, Governor Kefas met with the contractors on-site in Mararraba and proceeded to the Gayama community to assess the progress on a bridge being constructed.

Governor Kefas Commissions Taraba State Governor's Lodge in Abuja.

The Taraba State Governor's Lodge, also known as TY Danjuma House in Abuja, has been officially commissioned following its extensive reconstruction and remodeling by Governor Agbu Kefas.

The commissioning ceremony took place this Friday in Abuja, drawing a host of distinguished guests. Among those in attendance were the Governors of Adamawa, Plateau, and Kogi states, former military leader General Yakubu Gowon, and former Defense Minister General TY Danjuma.

These prominent figures, along with many Tarabans and notable Nigerians, gathered to witness the event at the newly refurbished State Governor's Lodge.

General TY Danjuma, a renowned figure from Taraba, had the honor of officially commissioning the lodge.

Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Kefas reaffirmed his commitment to promoting Taraba's image and pledged to elevate the state’s profile on the national stage. He assured the people of Taraba of brighter days ahead, urging them to support and cooperate with his administration.

Governor Agbu Kefas of Taraba State has officially sworn in newly appointed judges for the High Court and Customary Court of Appeal, and inaugurated the newly constituted Board of Internal Revenue Service today.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday,19th June- 2024.
at the Exco Chamber, Government House, Jalingo.

The judges inducted by Governor Kefas include Justice Hamidu Audu, Justice Joel Daniel Ubandoma, and Justice Jennifer Bibonga for the High Court. For the Customary Court of Appeal, the appointees are Justice Esther Tata and Justice Benjamin Samuila Abwage.

In his address, Governor Kefas congratulated the judges on their appointments, emphasizing that their selection reflects the trust and confidence the people of Taraba State have in them.

He urged them to administer the law impartially, upholding justice without fear or favor. The Governor highlighted the judiciary's pivotal role in society, underscoring that their decisions profoundly impact the lives of citizens, and stressed the importance of exercising their duties with utmost responsibility and professionalism.

Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, has committed to aligning his administration with the national minimum wage agreement reached between the Federal Government and labor unions.

During an interview with the Government House Press Crew in Jalingo, following his inspection of several projects in the state capital, Dr. Kefas emphasized his administration’s dedication to the welfare of workers.

The Federal Government and labor unions are currently engaged in negotiations to determine a new national minimum wage.

Despite the ongoing discussions, Governor Kefas has assured civil servants in Taraba State that his administration will honor any wage amount decided upon.

On Wednesday, May 29, 2024, Dr. Agbu Kefas marked his first year as the Governor of Taraba State.

To celebrate this milestone, he held a media chat with journalists in Jalingo, addressing his achievements over the past year.

In his speech, Governor Kefas reflected on the challenges he inherited upon taking office, including security issues, inadequate medical facilities, a lack of vocational training opportunities, neglected cultural and tourism sectors, limited youth engagement, economic difficulties, and insufficient investment.
