There’s something beautiful happening in places like Lagos and Abuja among music ministers when one person hosts an event, they intentionally carry others along. Concerts, live recordings, worship gatherings… you’ll often see multiple voices from the same city sharing the same altar, each given a moment to minister. That’s not just strategy it’s kingdom.
It got me thinking about us here in our own city.
We have anointed, hardworking, and consistent music ministers around us people growing, learning, and serving faithfully. Yet, when it’s time to host events, we often look far before we look near. We bring in many from outside (which is not wrong), but sometimes overlook those right beside us except they are already in our close circle.
This is a gentle call to rethink that.
Music ministry is not a competition; it’s a collaboration. When you lift another minister, you are not reducing your light you are multiplying it. Two hands lifted will always do more than one.
Imagine what would happen if we became intentional about featuring one another:
• Giving platforms to emerging voices
• Creating room for different expressions of grace
• Building unity within our local music community
Yes, we can still invite guests from other states there’s value in that. But let it be balanced. Let our own also be seen, heard, and supported.
Some of the people you’re overlooking today are voices God has planted near you for a reason.
Let’s build together. Let’s grow together. Let’s shine together.
