KANO STATE HIGH COURT SENTENCED CHINESE NATIONAL, GENG-QUANGRONG FRANK TO DEATH BY HANGING OVER THE MURDER OF GIRLFRIEND
The Kano State High Court, sitting at Miller Road, ha sentenced one Mr Geng-Quangrong to death by hanging after it found him guilty of culpable homicide punishable with death, under Section 221(b) of the Penal Code.
Recall that Geng-Quangrong was arrested and remanded by the police for culpable homicide in September 2022 over the murder of his 22 year old girlfriend Ummukulsum Buhari, popularly known as Ummita, at her residence in Janbulo quarters, Kumbotso LGA of Kano.
Mr Geng, who alleged provocation due to breach of promise to marry, on the part of Ummukulsum, stormed her apartment the night of 16th September 2022 and stabbed her to death. He was arrested by neighbors and handed over to the police for prosecution.
