“Plateau Will Not Surrender to Cr!m!n∆lity” — Governor Mutfwang Visits Victims of Barkin Ladi, Bassa Att∆cks

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has visited communities affected by the recent attacks in Nding, Barkin Ladi LGA, and Ngbrazongo village in Bassa LGA to sympathize with bereaved families, survivors, and community leaders.

During the visit, the governor reassured residents that his administration remains fully committed to protecting lives and property across the state, declaring that no community would be abandoned in times of crisis.

Governor Mutfwang revealed that he has maintained constant communication with security agencies and local authorities since the attacks began to ensure swift response measures. He also commended security operatives for preventing further escalation of violence and ordered that any operative found complicit be investigated and prosecuted.

At a strategic stakeholders’ security meeting in Barkin Ladi attended by religious leaders, traditional rulers, youth representatives, and other stakeholders, the governor vowed that perpetrators of violence and terror in Plateau State would be identified and brought to justice.

As part of renewed security efforts, Governor Mutfwang reiterated the ban on night mining activities, directing all mining operations to end by 5:00 p.m. daily. He also reaffirmed the ban on night grazing and grazing by underage children.

“Plateau State will not surrender to criminality,” the governor declared, emphasizing his administration’s determination to strengthen security, protect vulnerable communities, and restore lasting peace.

The governor further assured farmers of improved security ahead of the planting season and promised fertilizer subsidies to boost agricultural production.

Victims injûr£d on Sat-May-9th 2026 attack in Gangare community, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau state, carried out by suspected Fulani militia, are currently receiving medical treatment at various health facilities.

Sources within the community disclosed that several residents sustained gunshot injuries during the incident, which has heightened tension and renewed security concerns in the area.

Community leaders have called on security agencies and government authorities to intensify efforts toward protecting lives and restoring peace across affected communities in Barkin Ladi and other parts of Plateau State.

Today, Sunday, 10th May 2026, I had the honour and privilege of appearing before the Screening Committee of our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), as I formally present myself to serve the good people of Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency at the National Assembly.

I am grateful to God Almighty for the successful screening exercise and subsequent clearance to contest for the House of Representatives seat. The exercise was conducted in a peaceful, transparent, and professional manner by distinguished members of the committee whose commitment to fairness and internal democracy was highly commendable. This successful screening marks another important step in our collective journey towards purposeful representation and people-oriented leadership.
