Yemi My Lover Calls Out Olamide for Ignoring His Phone Calls for 180 Days After Using His Name on His Song

Veteran Nollywood actor Yemi Ayebo, popularly known as Yemi My Lover, has accused music star Olamide of ignoring his calls after referencing him in a song.

In a viral video, Ayebo responded to whether artists and skit makers who use his iconic nickname ever compensated or acknowledged him.

“Olamide was the first to use my name in his song, and I was so happy. You know that it's a sweet soup that attracts different spoons, no one goes near a bad soup. My name is blessed by God, that’s why both Davido, Olamide and others including skit makers are using it,” he said.

According to the actor, who gained fame in the late ’90s for his romantic . He said Pasuma him if had “settled” him for the using his name in his song. When Ayebo said no, Pasuma called the rapper, “Pasuma reached out to Olamid and told him jokingly that someone has employed the services of Policemen to arrest him,” Ayebo recounted.

He said Olamide who spoke briefly with him told him to collect his number from Pasuma and call him so they can both talk.

“I called Olamide for more than six months, he didn’t pick up my calls, I messaged him and he didn’t reply,” he said.

Ayebo added that while he hasn’t received financial compensation, the mentions have revived interest in his brand.

The video has sparked mixed reactions online. Some fans are urging Olamide to respond, while others argue that artists don’t owe payment for casual name-drops.
