TINTI MBRU — MRS. IRIGWE 2026 CONCLUDES WITH A POWERFUL MESSAGE OF HYGIENE, DIGNITY, AND EMPOWERMENT
On Saturday, June 28, 2026, the TINTI MBRU — Mrs. Irigwe 2026 initiative concluded with an impactful Personal Hygiene and Sanitary Pad Awareness Program at ECWA Secondary School Miango (ESSM) for school's in Irigwe Land.
The event, themed “From Shame to Confidence: Owning My Hygiene, Owning My Future,” brought together community leaders, professionals, educators, and young girls in a meaningful conversation centered on menstrual hygiene, health awareness, dignity, and empowerment.
The program provided a platform to educate and encourage girls to embrace proper hygiene practices while breaking the silence and stigma often associated with menstruation.
Speaking during the event, experts highlighted the importance of menstrual health education, correct sanitary pad usage, proper disposal methods, and the need to ensure every girl has access to the knowledge and resources required to live with confidence and dignity.
The session featured insightful presentations from Mrs. Laraba Kure of the Plateau State College of Nursing Sciences, Vom, on Health Risks: Poor Menstrual Hygiene, Correct Pad Use and Disposal — From Shame to Health, and Dr. Lawrence Zongo , Human Rights Defender and Campaigner, on Menstrual Hygiene as a Human Right: Dignity, Education, and Access for Every Girl.
The gathering was graced by respected personalities, including community leaders, women representatives, and stakeholders who expressed support for initiatives that promote the wellbeing and future of young girls.
