The operation, which was conducted at about 5:00 pm on Wednesday, 22 April 2026, resulted in the arrest of 2 suspects caught in the process of fabricating sophisticated fi****ms. OPERATION EASTERN SANITY: TROOPS ARREST IPOB KINGPIN ALLEGEDLY RESPONSIBLE FOR DEATH OF A POLICEMAN IN DELTA STATE

In a sustained offensive and concerted efforts to rid the South East and environs of criminal elements, troops of Sector 2, Operation UDO KA operating in the ongoing Operation EASTERN SANITY in Ebonyi State have successfully arrested a notorious Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Eastern Security Network (ESN) kingpin popularly known as 'Calamity' and four others during a raid on the terrorists' hideout in Nwofe, Izzi Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, in the early hours of today, 21 April 2026.

The operation was conducted following credible intelligence that linked the suspect and his cohort to the killing of a police officer and the injury of another during an attack at Okuku-Igbo in Oshimili North LGA, Delta State on 26 February 2026. During that attack, the assailants carted away two AK-47 rifles.

In an attempt to evade arrest after intensified security operations in Delta State, “Calamity” and his men relocated to Ebonyi State to look for a safe haven and established a new criminal camp to continue their violent activities.

Acting on actionable intelligence, troops stormed the hideout and apprehended five suspects, including the commander (Calamity) and 4 other suspects who are also key members of IPOB/ESN.

At the time of arrest, “Calamity” was found in possession of a black handbag containing five mobile phones and numerous keys. Additional exhibits recovered included a black Kcsanya motorcycle. The suspects are currently in custody and undergoing further investigation to dismantle the wider network of criminal collaborators and recover other weapons hidden by the group.

This successful operation underscores the determination of the Nigerian Armed Forces in collaboration with other security agencies to neutralize terrorist threats, restore peace, and protect law-abiding citizens across the region. The military reiterates its c

The attack, which commenced shortly after midnight and lasted until about 0300 hours, was met with a swift and coordinated response by vigilant troops who executed a deliberate offensive-defensive action, effectively containing the assault and forcing the terrorists into a disorderly withdrawal.

During the engagement, troops inflicted heavy casualties on the attackers, with 24 terrorists neutralised so far. Ongoing exploitation of the battlefield has led to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition, including 18 AK-47 rifles, 3 General Purpose Machine Guns (GPMG), 2 PKT automatic anti-aircraft guns, 3 RPG tubes, 2 mortar tubes, 4 hand grenades, 18 AK-47 magazines, and large quantities of belted 7.62mm ammunition for PKT systems.

CRACKDOWN ON TERROR: TROOPS INTERCEPT LARGE CACHE OF AMMUNITION AND EXPLOSIVE COMPONENTS ON KADUNA-JOS HIGHWAY

In a significant breakthrough for internal security, vigilant troops of Operation ENDURING PEACE have dealt a significant blow to the logistics network of terrorists elements operating within its Joint Operations Area. The troops deployed at Manchok and reinforced by its Special Forces Tactical Team, successfully intercepted a high-capacity shipment of heavy ammunition and suspected Improvised Explosive Device (IED) components during a precision stop-and-search operation in Kaduna State.

This occurred at approximately 11:45am on Thursday, 16 April 2026, near the Boys Science Secondary School along the Manchok-Jos road. A navy-blue Opel Wagon commercial vehicle, with registration number plate NSR 154 TA KANO, was traveling with 7 passengers on board. Upon flagging down the vehicle, troops conducted a comprehensive search that led to the discovery of a lethal cache of ammunition hidden within the vehicle. Recovered items included 569 rounds of 12.7mm Anti-Aircraft (AA) gun ammunition, several high-velocity warheads, and 189 empty shells of 7.62mm special ammunition.

Furthermore, the search also yielded a collection of disused Global System for Mobile Communications (GSM) handsets, which technical experts frequently identify as primary components used in the construction of remotely detonated Improvised Explosive Devices. During the initial on-site interrogation, the driver, identified as Mr. Khalifa Bawa, attempted to distance himself from the contraband, stating that the lethal hardware was a "waybill" consignment. Bawa alleged that the items were handed over by an anonymous source and claimed he had no contact information or identifying details for either the sender at the point of origin or the intended recipient at the destination.

NIGERIAN ARMY INTENSIFIES ONSLAUGHT ON BANDITS, OVERRUNS CAMPS, CAPTURES FAMILIES, DESTROYS LOGISTICS IN BAUCHI FOREST

The Nigerian Army has continued to record significant successes in its ongoing clearance operations against bandit elements, as troops sustain offensive actions across identified criminal enclaves in Bauchi.

In continuation of ongoing operations, troops of 33 Artillery Brigade, in conjunction with the Office of the National Security Adviser (ONSA) team, conducted a clearance operation within the Dajin Madam Forest. The operation resulted in the successful clearing of several bandit camps, including the notorious Azuge and Hari camps, further disrupting the activities of criminal elements in the area.

During the operation, troops neutralized a number of bandits, while several others fled under sustained military pressure. In addition, bandits’ family members comprising 6 women and 13 children were taken into custody. Several motorcycles used by the criminals for mobility were also destroyed, further limiting their operational capability.

A cache of items was recovered during the operation, including one AK-47 magazine, packs of tramadol drugs, a pair of police uniform, several military uniforms and 2 horses, all indicative of the group’s criminal activities and attempts at impersonation to commit criminalities.

Troops are currently maintaining a firm hold position within the Dajin Madam Forest to consolidate on the gains achieved and prevent any re-infiltration by fleeing bandits.

In a related development, troops conducted a follow-up clearance operation to Mainamaji as part of the exploitation of the general area following recent air strikes on bandit hideouts. The operation recorded no contact, further suggesting that sustained military pressure has significantly degraded the presence and movement of bandits within the area. The continued success of these operations underscores the effectiveness of ongoing military offensives and the increas
