GLIT PUBLISHERS Visit to the National Library
Date: Wednesday, 10th September 2025

In the spirit of transparency, we want our esteemed customers to know the efforts we are making on their behalf.

Yesterday, out of frustration with the continuous delays in ISBN release, I (Patrick Michael, MD/CEO, Glit Publishers) personally went to the National Library together with our staff in charge of ISBNs.

We had a direct conversation with the officials in charge, including the Madam in the office and the officer who processes the ISBN numbers. During this visit, we asked them tough questions about the reasons behind these delays and the challenges publishers like us face.

The entire discussion was recorded, and we are making this recording available to our customers so you can hear directly from the National Library staff themselves what the issues are — and understand that these challenges are not from us as a company.

👉 Bottom line: There is no fixed timeframe for when an ISBN will be released. It could take 2, 5, 7, or even 10 days.

Another challenge they complain about is shortage of staff. They have 2 staff serving 36 states of the Federation, one for ISBN, the other for ISSN.

No Data for internet. No light. Printers are down etc.

One thing our esteemed clients should be assured of is our unrelenting efforts in following up and searching for alternatives to avoid delays in the physical print of hard copies or online uploads.

This is part of our commitment to openness, honesty, and ensuring our clients are fully informed about the process.
