Happening Now: The Honourable Commissioner of Public Works and Infrastructure, Arch Ibrahim Hamza is representing Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani at the ground inauguration of the Greenville LNG hub in Kakau, Kaduna.

The hub is the first-ever Liquefied Compressed Natural Gas (LCNG) facility in Nigeria. The hub will create thousands of direct and indirect jobs in the state and Nigeria at large.

One of the most significant impacts of Greenville LNG's LCNG hub is the economic empowerment of approximately two million KEKE NAPEP riders across Nigeria. By offering a more affordable alternative to traditional fuel, Greenville LNG is not only improving the economic well-being of these riders and their families but also cushioning the impact of fuel subsidy changes on the public at large.

Beyond the transportation and energy sectors, these Gas hubs provide access to LNG for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and large industries in remote areas. This is a catalyst for industrialization and development in regions far from traditional gas pipelines. LNG and CNG can effectively substitute for PMS and Gas oil consumption, reducing it by 15-20%, thereby offering an economical and eco-friendly fuel alternatives.

On Sunday, October 22, 2023, I had the privilege of hosting a group of highly respected retired Permanent Secretaries in Kaduna State, under the leadership of Mal. Abubakar Mustapha. The meeting with these seasoned administrators is part of our continuous consultation with key stakeholders aimed at ensuring that everyone contributes his quota towards moving Kaduna State to a higher level.

The leader of the delegation, Mal. Abubakar Mustapha lauded our administration for disbursing the sum of N3.1billion for the payment of gratuity for retirees and death benefits for families of the deceased under the Defined Benefit Scheme and the Contributory Pension Scheme. He asured the government of the unwavering commitment of the group to the growth and development of our dear state.

We appreciate the group of retired Permanent Secretaries for honoring our invitation and for their selfless services to the state.

Today, I had the pleasure and honour of serving as the Special Guest of Honour at the colourful passing out parade of 85 Regular Recruits of the Depot Nigerian Army, Zaria. The ceremony was graced by the Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja, former Chief of Army Staff, Gen. AJ Kazir (Rtd), Chairman, Senate Committee on Army, Senator Abdulaziz Yar’Adua, GOC 2 Division, Maj. Gen. VU Okoro, Commandant, Nigerian Defence Academy, Maj. Gen. JO Ochai and other top personalities.

While thanking the Military for its continuing contributions to national security and sustenance of democracy, I commended them for increasing the manpower of the Military with the additional 6000 recruits who have just passed out. I also made a passionate appeal to the Chief of Army Staff to deploy more troops to troubled Southern Kaduna and Birnin Gwari communities.

The Chief of Army Staff, Gen. Lagbaja reaffirmed the military’s commitment to tackling insecurity in Kaduna State and the country. He gave the assurance that the security forces will strengthen their presence in troubled communities in Kaduna State in order to uproot criminal elements and restore peace. He thanked the people of Zaria for been good hosts to the Depot Nigeran Army.
