Part 2: The Path That Didn’t End

Amina thought it was over.

The night she met the witch, she returned home different—quieter, braver… but also restless. Sleep no longer came easy. Every time she closed her eyes, she saw the bubbling pot… and the shadows.

But this time, they weren’t warning her.

They were calling her back.

Three nights later, Amina stood behind her grandmother’s house again.

The path was still there.

Waiting.

“I’m not afraid,” she whispered, though her heart raced.

She stepped forward.

The trees seemed darker than before, stretching higher, their branches twisting like fingers. The air carried a faint, familiar smell—the same strange scent from the witch’s hut.

And then…

She saw it again.

The hut.

Exactly where it had been.

Amina didn’t hesitate this time. She walked straight to the door and pushed it open.

Empty.

The pot was there, but it wasn’t boiling.

The chair was there, but the witch was gone.

“Hello?” Amina called softly.

No answer.

She stepped closer to the pot, her reflection staring back at her from the dark liquid inside. But something wasn’t right.

Her reflection… blinked.

Amina froze.

Slowly, the reflection smiled—but she wasn’t smiling.

“Why did you come back?” the reflection asked.

Amina stumbled back. “You’re not me…”

The voice echoed from the pot, deeper now. “I am the part of you that stayed behind.”

The liquid began to ripple, shadows forming again—but these were darker, heavier… stronger.

“You faced your fear once,” it whispered. “But fear doesn’t disappear.”

The hut door slammed shut.

Amina’s breath quickened. “What do you want?”

“To show you the truth you still refuse to see.”

The shadows rose, surrounding her.

This time, she didn’t see herself crying.

She saw herself choosing.

Walking down two different paths—one filled with light… the other swallowed by darkness.

“Every choice creates a path,” the voice said. “And every path… has a price.”

Amina clenched her fists. “Then I’ll choose carefully.”

The shadows paused.

The reflection tilted its head. “Will you?”

The pot suddenly burst into a violent boil.

The room shook.

Amina stood her ground, her voice stronger now. “I won’t run anymore.”

Silence.

Then, slowly…

The shadows sank.

The boiling stopped.

The door creaked open again.

As Amina stepped outside, she realized something chilling—

The path had split into two.

One side bright.

The other… completely dark.

And this time, no one was there to guide her.

Only her choice remained.

Part 3: The path that don't END

Amina stood still, her eyes fixed on the two paths before her.
One glowed softly, warm and inviting.
The other was swallowed by darkness, silent… almost calling her.
Her heart pounded.
“This is your choice,” the voice echoed faintly in her head.
She took a deep breath.
“I choose… me.”
And without looking back, Amina stepped onto the path filled with light.
At first, nothing happened.
Then suddenly, the ground beneath her feet trembled. The trees bent inward, the air spinning around her like a storm. The light grew brighter—too bright.
Amina shut her eyes.
“Face it,” she remembered.
Slowly… she opened them again.
The light didn’t blind her anymore.
It guided her.
Step by step, the forest began to change. The twisted trees straightened. The cold air softened. The fear that once gripped her chest… loosened.
Until finally—
She stepped out of the forest.
Back behind her grandmother’s house.
Morning had come.
Birds chirped like nothing had ever happened.
Amina looked back.
There was no path.
No hut.
No sign of the witch.
Just silence.
“Amina?”
Her body froze.
That voice…
Slowly, she turned around.
Standing a few steps away was her mother.
Tears filled her eyes.
“Mum?” Amina whispered.
Before she could say anything else, her mother rushed forward and pulled her into a tight embrace.
“Where have you been?” her mother cried. “I’ve been looking everywhere for you!”
Amina held onto her, tighter than ever before. “I… I got lost.”
But deep down, she knew—
She had found herself.
Her mother pulled back, holding her face gently. “You look different.”
Amina smiled faintly. “I feel different.”
They began walking back home together, side by side.
For the first time in a long time… Amina didn’t feel alone.
As they reached the house, Amina glanced back one last time.
For a brief second—
She thought she saw the crooked hut… far in the distance.
And a shadowy figure watching her.
Then it vanished.
Amina smiled to herself and faced forward.
Because now she understood the truth—
The path was never about where it led.
It was about who she became walking through it.

The End.

“The Path That Called Her Name” (Part 1)

Amina had always been warned about the path behind her grandmother’s house.

“Never follow it after sunset,” they said.

But curiosity has a way of speaking louder than fear.

That evening, with the sky bleeding into darkness, Amina stepped onto the narrow trail. The air grew colder with every step, the trees whispering like they knew her name.

Then she saw it.

A small, crooked hut.

It hadn’t been there before.

Before she could turn back, the door creaked open.

“Come in, child,” a voice rasped.

Amina hesitated… then stepped inside.

An old witch sat by a pot that bubbled without fire, her eyes glowing faintly in the dim light.

“I’ve been waiting,” the witch said.

“For me?” Amina asked, her voice barely steady.

The witch smiled. “You came looking for answers.”

“I didn’t—”

“You did,” the witch cut in. “You just didn’t know it.”

The room suddenly felt too small.

“What answers?” Amina whispered.

The witch leaned forward. “About your future.”

The pot began to bubble louder. Shadows climbed the walls, forming shapes—Amina standing alone… Amina crying… Amina walking away from everything she loved.

“No… that’s not me,” she said, shaking her head.

The witch’s voice softened. “It will be… if you keep running from yourself.”

Amina’s heart pounded. “Then what do I do?”

“Face it,” the witch said simply.

Silence.

Amina closed her eyes, taking a deep breath. “I’m scared,” she admitted.

The shadows stopped moving.

The witch nodded slowly. “Good. That means you’re ready.”

The door behind her creaked open.

When Amina stepped outside, the hut had vanished.

Only the quiet path remained.

She looked back once… then smiled faintly.

For the first time, she wasn’t afraid of where it led.
