Why Nigeria Needs Its Old System of Government Back for Peace?
Before 1966, Nigeria ran a parliamentary system with strong regional governments, & the country worked better. Power was shared, regions controlled their resources, and development was faster.
The West led in education, the East in industry, & the North in agriculture.
After the military takeover, power was centralized & the presidential system was imposed. Since then:
Governance has become expensive
States depend on Abuja
The struggle for federal power has deepened our problems, is better
Nigeria to return to the parliamentary system & true regionalism
If something once worked and what we have now is failing, rethinking our system is not going backward it is common sense. 🇳🇬 Nigeria can work again.
