“The Landlord That Hated Prosperity"

When Solomon graduated from university, life was not easy.
He searched for work for almost a year in his small town. Every door he knocked on remained closed. Finally, with the little money he had, he packed a small bag and travelled to Lagos to start life again.
Lagos was not kind at first.
For weeks he slept on a friend’s floor, moving from office to office with his CV. But one afternoon, something changed. A company finally called him back.

He got the job.
It was not a huge salary, but it was enough to begin life.

Two months later, Solomon rented a small apartment in Ikorodu, far from the busy parts of Lagos Island. The compound was quiet and cheap. To him, it felt like the beginning of a new life.
Then things began to improve quickly.
His boss liked his work. His salary increased. Within months, Solomon managed to buy a used car.

Neighbors started noticing him.
But someone else was watching too.
The landlord.

Unknown to Solomon, the landlord had a dark secret. He believed no tenant in his compound should prosper beyond him.

That night, while everyone was asleep, the landlord stepped quietly into the compound.
Standing in the middle of the yard, he whispered wicked words into the darkness.

“No one prospers in my compound. This boy will not succeed here.”
Days later, Solomon’s car suddenly developed serious problems.

He repaired it.
Then it broke down again.
One night, the worst happened.
The car caught fire and burnt completely.
Before Solomon could recover from the shock, bad news followed.

His company downsized.
And Solomon lost his job.
Everything collapsed at once.
But Solomon was not an ordinary young man.

He was part of New Season Prophetic Prayers and Declarations (NSPPD).
Every morning, before sunrise, Solomon joined the altar of fire in prayer.
He refused to give up.
Day after day, he prayed.

“Lord, fight every invisible battle around my life.”
Weeks later, something unexpected happened.
Another company called him.
Not only did he get a new job, the salary was even better than the previous one.
The landlord watched in shock.
“How is this possible?” he wondered.
But Solomon kept praying.

One night again, the landlord came out secretly to repeat his wicked declarations.
But this time was different.
As he stood in the compound speaking evil words, something strange happened.
A loud noise echoed in the night.
Neighbors rushed outside.

The landlord had collapsed in the same spot where he used to make his dark declarations.
From that day forward, strange peace filled the compound.

And for the first time in many years, tenants began to prosper.
Solomon later moved into a bigger apartment and bought another car

Whenever people asked him the secret of his breakthrough, he simply smiled and said:

What God can't do doesn't exist

My husband used to call me ‘Area Tailor.’ Now I’m leaving the country with the same needle he mocked.

Every day my husband looked me straight in the eye and spoke to me like I had no sense.
Just because I dropped out of university and I’m a quiet person.
“Stay in your lane,” he would say.
“All you know is how to sew and watch Indian films.”
I never argued.
I never shouted.
But inside my mind I kept telling myself one thing:
One day, you will see pepper.
For years, I quietly ran my small tailoring business from home. Ankara. Lace. Ready-to-wear. Anything fabric, I could turn it into something beautiful.
To him, it was nothing.
He thought I was just sewing small clothes for women in the estate and collecting small change.
Even his mother would bring materials for me to sew and still refuse to pay me.
But I kept working.
One day, I posted some of my designs on Instagram.
That single post changed my life.
A Nigerian fashion designer living in America sent me a message. She said she loved my finishing and asked if we could work together.
We started small.
I sew from Nigeria.
She sells in the US.
Sometimes she pays me in dollars.
Sometimes the naira equivalent.
My husband never knew.
He still believed I was just the “area tailor.”
Quietly, I started saving.
Converting dollars.
Sending money into a second bank account I opened with my maiden name.
Little by little.
Month by month.
Then I applied for a passport.
Later… a visa.
When it was approved, I told nobody.
Last week, I quietly packed some things and moved out of the house to stay with my elder cousin.
When he called me shouting
“YOU moved? With whose money?!”
I laughed.
For the first time in years, I laughed freely.
The same needle and thread he mocked… built my escape.
Now my travel papers are processing.
By the end of this year, I will relocate.
But life has added one more twist.
I just found out I’m two months pregnant.
And to be honest… I’m not even sure he is the father.
We never had children together.
So now I’m standing at a crossroads.
A new country.
A new life.
And a baby I didn’t plan.
I am 33 years old.

Should I keep this child?

I love how a woman can go from being obsessed to not interested at all when a man makes one wrong move. One big thing I learned years ago is never to take a good woman for granted.

She might be so obsessed with you, but one wrong move could turn her obsession into complete silence and distance. You might think she's changed, but no she's still that good woman who's given you an expiration date.

She will only offer this version of herself to someone who makes her feel calm and valued again.

Stop playing with good women.

Be guided.

Ways to Cut Wedding Costs Without Losing What Truly Matters

• Skip Aso-ebi
• Skip a large bridal train
• Skip groomsmen if necessary
• Make the event strictly by invitation
• Consider a weekday wedding
• Avoid alcohol — it adds a huge cost
• Don’t feel pressured to feed the whole town
• Rent a wedding gown (you can buy an even better one for your 5th or 10th anniversary)

Save your money.

A wedding is simply a ceremony where you are joined together in front of family and close friends — not 5,000 strangers. It shouldn’t be about impressing people.

The most important moment is when the pastor joins you together. Not the fashion, not the food, not the show.

This isn’t to discourage people who can afford a big celebration. If you can, that’s fine. But even then, wisdom says spend responsibly.

Weddings don’t have to be expensive. If you choose, you can keep it simple and meaningful. 💍

My dear sister,

Men may not always say it, but respect means a lot to them. Speak to him with kindness, not insults. Appreciate his efforts, even the small ones. Avoid correcting him harshly in public. Listen when he talks and value his opinions. Trust him with responsibilities and acknowledge when he tries. Encourage him instead of competing with him. A peaceful home builds a strong man.

Respect is not weakness; it is wisdom. When a man feels respected, he becomes more open, more protective, and more committed. And when respect flows both ways, love grows deeper, calmer, and stronger. 👑🤍✨

Stop being so hard on yourself.

Life is already demanding so much from you. The pressure, the uncertainty, the expectations are heavy enough without you adding your own criticism on top of it.

🌟 Beating yourself up won’t make you stronger; it will only make the journey lonelier.

Speak to yourself the way you would speak to someone you love.

With patience. With compassion. With grace for the days you don’t get everything right.

You are learning.
You are growing.
You are trying and that counts for more than you think.

Be kinder to yourself.
Be more supportive of yourself.
