If you must visit Plateau state for tourism related activities, I'll recommend you include a market tour in your itinerary.

Within the state capital: Building Materials Tuesday market for fresh veggies, Faringada market for tomatoes and veggies, Chobe market for a Southern/Eastern market feeling, Terminus market for everything wares and accessories, Vom for a visit to strawberry farm (between November and March).

But if you want to take a step further crossing into other Lga, here you go: Pankshin Tomatoes Market in Pankshin Lga, Pwel dog market (Dawaki dog market) for local dogs in Kanke Lga, Jengre market in Bassa Lga for grains, and Bokkos Central Market in Bokkos Lga for Irish potatoes.

What's in Bokkos Central Market?

It's arguably the biggest Irish potatoes market on the Plateau and by extension in Nigeria. The market days are on Thursdays where tons of Irish potatoes are brought in from different villages within the Lga and transported to various parts of the country. From my 4th time experience, the major sellers of Irish potatoes in the market are 90% women.

Though mostly known for Irish Potatoes, other market items are also sold in the market. Foodstuff and wares.

This market generates revenue to both the Lga and state from taxes being paid by traders and vehicles. I'll still ask, why is there no Irish Potatoes processing factory in Bokkos? Please, before you come to remind me of a change of name tell me what security or safety has the change of name brought to the farmers.

You asked him 7,000, and your dad told you he will give you in the morning before he leaves for work. This was after he has thoroughly scrutinized what you needed the money for, all the questions he asked were already making you angry.

Throughout the night your dad couldn't sleep because he was thinking as to why he must sacrifice his last 7,000 for you

In the morning he calls you into his room and give you 6,000-00 instead of 7,000-00

You were not happy and squeezed your face in discontent, and reluctantly said thank you after complaining that it was not all you requested

Your mum after seeing this does not utter a word but meets you in your room where your dad is not present and give you 1,000 from her own money and say "don't mind him, add this to meet your needs .

You began to smile and quickly run to Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp to write.

"I have the best mum in the world, I love my mum".

Now your dad had gone out with just 500 in his pocket with no fuel in his car. Because of you, he uses public transport that day to work. He gives your mum 500 to enable her handle any emergency while he is away.
