See the young man in this picture? He was 18 years old when it was taken at the train station in Mobile, Alabama, in 1952. There is $1.50 in his pocket. In that bag by his foot are two changes of clothes. (And if his mama was anything like most other mamas in the South, probably some sandwiches and other snacks.) He was on his way to Indiana to take a job.

He was going to play baseball for the Indy Clowns of the Negro Leagues. Apparently, he was pretty good at it. A couple of years later, he was signed by the (then minor league) Milwaukee Brewers. He played for the Brewers for 2 seasons, then moved across town to the Braves, and later followed them to Atlanta. Eventually, he was the last Negro League player to be on a major league roster.

He still hangs around the baseball world. At the moment, he's the senior vice president of the Atlanta Braves. Even though the team has changed stadiums (twice) since then, his retired number, 44, still hangs on the outfield wall of the old Atlanta-Fulton County Stadium near where he belted a homer to break Babe Ruth's all-time record (which he held for 33 years).

His name is "Hammerin' Hank" Aaron. โšพ๏ธ ๐Ÿงข ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฟ

The Zulu state was formed by Shaka, who ruled as the king from 1816 to 1828.

Shaka was the stuff of legends, and subsequent tales of his life include a prophecy that foretold of a child that would make the Zulu the most feared of nations. Shakaโ€™s success was due to the modifications he made to the traditional weapons (spear, club, and shield) as well as to new battle strategies. He took the traditional circumcision schoolage sets and turned them into more effective military regiments or impis.

Zulu regiments could cover up to 50 miles (80 kilometers) a day and still be able to fight a battle at the end of the march, while E.uropean armies of the day could barely cover 20 miles (32 kilometers) in a day and rarely were able to engage an enemy at the end of a dayโ€™s march.

The more I read about the great king, Oba Ovonramwen Nogbaisi of Benin, the more speechless I become.

It is very important people know and understand their history, especiaIIy Africans. A lot happened in the past that I don't know why these events are not taught in schools.

This is the last king of independent Benin Kingdom and here, over 100 years ago when this photo was taken, even though he was defeated and shackled in chains across his neck up to his legs by the Britฤฑsh, he still managed to maintain the last toga of royalty.

With his thick African hair and clasped fingers, the caged king let out a defiantly confident smile. I need to confirm it is was true that Ovonramwen engaged in mindless human sacrifices or whether it was all lฤฑes, more reading to be done. A civilization is as powerful as the level of its technology, that is all I can say for now.

Mundari tribe of South Sudan ๐Ÿ‡ธ๐Ÿ‡ธ

It's alleged that when you want to marry a lady she packs into your house and begin to stay with you. You dare not go to the father to tell him you want to marry his daughter, they will bรจat you up because it is insult to the father because he is not the one you're marrying..
After the daughter has packed to your house her family elders will come to your house to give you the bride price to pay.
They don't pay bride price in cash they pay with cow..
They charge for as many as 70 cows for a bride price..
In Mundari, female children are more preferable because having daughters give you opportunity to having many cattle and here is one amazing thing about this culture..
They don't value your wealth by cash they value it by the number of cow ๐Ÿ„ you have..
They bath with c*ow urine
They hardly sell or ki*ll their cow ๐Ÿ„ they eat only sick cow or a d*ying one..

They are unique in their own way!
