Kano State to Host Eid Fest and Free POS Empowerment for Youths and Small Businesses
The Office of the Special Adviser to the Governor on Youth and Sports Development has announced the hosting of Eid Fest, a cultural and entertainment event scheduled to take place on March 28–29, 2026 at Kano Pillars Stadium, Kano.
The event, organized with the support of the Kano State Government, will feature a variety of engaging activities including horse riding, food market, concerts, games, henna art, and other recreational activities aimed at bringing together youths, families, and the general public in celebration of the Eid festivities.
In addition to the entertainment and cultural displays, the event will also serve as a platform for economic empowerment, particularly for youths and small-scale entrepreneurs across Kano State.
As part of the programme, a Free POS Empowerment Initiative will be introduced to support Youths and small business owners. Selected beneficiaries will receive Point of Sale (POS) machines and onboarding support, enabling them to participate in the digital financial system, expand their businesses, and create sustainable income opportunities.
The empowerment initiative is being implemented in collaboration with Alternative Bank, which is partnering with the Kano State Government to promote financial inclusion and youth entrepreneurship.
According to the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development, Sani Musa Danja, the programme aligns with the development agenda of the Kano State Government to empower young people, support small businesses, and create opportunities that will positively impact the economic growth of the state.
He further stated that the initiative reflects the vision and commitment of His Excellency, Abba Kabir Yusuf, toward youth development, economic empowerment, and inclusive governance in Kano State.
Members of the public, particularly youths and small-scale entrepreneurs, are encouraged to participate in the event and take advantage of the empowerment opportunities available.
Admission to the Eid Fest is free for attendees with an Alternative Bank account.
The Office of the Special Adviser on Youth and Sports Development remains committed to creating impactful programmes that combine sports, culture, entertainment, and youth empowerment for the benefit of the people of Kano State.
