Meet Gwani Dr. Muhammad Tahir Abdullahi, a distinguished Qur’anic scholar, educator, and lecturer in the Department of Education at Bayero University, Kano (BUK).
His academic journey combines formal education with a deep commitment to Qur’anic studies. He began his Qur’anic education at Gwani Danzarga Institute for Qur’anic Studies and obtained certificates in Tajweed and Ilmul Qira’aat from Al-Azhar Institute, Cairo University, Kano.
Academically, he obtained his Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE) from Sa’adatu Rimi College of Education, Kano, in 2007, followed by a Bachelor of Arts in Education (B.A.Ed.) from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria, in 2012.
He later earned a Master of Education (M.Ed.) in Curriculum Studies from Bayero University, Kano, in 2018 and a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction from ABU Zaria in 2023.
Professionally, he previously lectured at the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA), Katsina State, before transferring his service to BUK, where he currently continues his academic career. His teaching experience spans primary and secondary schools, colleges of education, and universities.
Beyond academia, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Abdullahi has participated in national and international Qur’anic competitions. In 2019, he was turbaned with the distinguished title of **Gwanin Qur’ani** by Gwani Danzarga Institute for Qur’anic Studies in recognition of his Qur’anic knowledge and achievements.
His journey reflects a remarkable combination of academic achievement, teaching experience, and dedication to the study and teaching of the Holy Qur’an.
