People don't die in their sleep. That is a misnomer. All sleep is death. The truth is that people are resurrected from death every morning. Those who do not resurrect continue the sleep of death. Once you understand this, you will also realise what a privilege waking up is. Every morning that you wake up, you are the recipient of a miracle from God. People could have been reading your obituary today. Instead, they are reading your posts on social media recording your life exploits. Use your waking hours well, because not everybody is privileged to wake up.
"Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom."-Psalm 90:12.

Pray immediately after you wake up in the morning, because when you wake up, you are still in a state of body and mind known as Theta. It is a semi-spiritual state of existence. During Theta, your prayers are most potent. A lot of the anxiety many people feel during the day is a result of snapping out of the Theta state to the fully physically conscious state without a proper prayerful transition. If you notice, you have a vague idea of what you dreamt of during the night when you wake. But the minute you do any sensual activity, such as reaching for a phone or speaking to someone, even that vague remembrance immediately evaporates. That is you leaving the Theta state, going from a spiral subconscious to fully conscious and focused on the natural world.

This is a kind reminder that the slow movement of a lion doesn't signify its cowardice but a deep target of what's important. It's okay to look like you're moving forward if you are preparing for something great. If moving backward in some areas of your field entails making way for greatness, then, move backward. You can be stretched backward but it doesn't mean your success is drawn back. Whenever you're free, you can do gigantic wonders!
It could be backward from distraction to increase your focus and target, or moving away from negative energy to get positively energized.

NO WEAPON FASHIONED AGAINST YOU SHALL PROSPER - ISAIAH 54VS15-17.

GOLDEN VERSE: "No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper". Isaiah 54Vs17a

EXPOSITORY
In combat, several weapons are often used in a bid to achieve victory and put the enemies at disarray.

Combat weapons can be psychological, economical, chemical or even biological.

On the physical level, different weapons have been manufactured with the potency for mass destruction.

Planes have been manufactured to fly into enemy territories with superlative speed and little sound.

But the scripture insists that no weapon fashioned against you shall prosper.

The implication is simple, it means all the weapons that have been manufactured long ago and the ones that are just being manufactured will have no dominion over you!

Why will weapons have no dominion over you?

This is very simple, the passage says that all weapons were created by God, therefore, He knows what makes one weapon work and what can be done to disable the weapon.

Besides, Christ have fought the battle for us and made us overcomers.

Christ has defeated death, hades and Satan (1st Corinthians 15Vs54b-55).

He has given us this victory through the authority we have over forces in the heavens, on earth and underneath the earth.

PRAYER: My Father, my God, as I begin to pray, every weapon that has held me and my family captive all these years must lose their hold over us in Jesus Name, Amen.

RULE IN THE MIDST OF YOUR FOES - HEBREWS 11VS32-33.

GOLDEN VERSE: "Who through faith subdue kingdoms, wrought righteousness, obtained promises, stopped the mouth of lions" Hebrews 11Vs33.

EXPOSITORY
What usually happens is that we are given to fear when we remember what the enemies have done to truncate our destinies.

Foes are a category of wicked enemies who wish to destroy everything a person has gradually achieved and doing so one after the other.

Remember Job and his predicament.

Satan ensured that all his children died, his business was affected and his body was afflicted.

These are not the works of an enemy but that of a foe.

Foes are much more than dangerious than enemies. But you can overcome them if you can rest your faith in Christ who has made you more than a Conqueror!

The Psalm is a messianic psalm, talking about Christ.

But we are the children of the Lion King, the lion of Judah.

Our lives are hid in Christ and Christ in God (Colossians 3Vs3), Hence the sceptre that was given to Jesus was actually given to you because we happen to be His temple and we are His hands and His legs.

So rule in the midst of the enemies.

I know that you are surrounded by enemy
forces but our confidence is in God not in the enemies.

God expects you to rule in the midst of your foes.

PRAYER: My Father, my God, as I begin to pray, I pursue, I overtake and rescue everything the foes have taken away from me in Jesus name, Amen.

PROTECTED FROM THE CURSE - PROVERBS 26VS2, COLOSSIANS 1VS13.

GOLDEN VERSE: "Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear son" Colossians 1Vs13

EXPOSITORY
A Curse that is causeless does not alight.

Sparrows and Swallows are tiny birds that love to fly.

They fly swiftly without perching and in flight, they do acrobatics.

Curses are evil words spoken to the life of a person, town or even properties.

The curse is efficacious in causing death, or stagnation and even sickness.

Sometimes, a person is birthed into a cursed home, at other times curses may affect a person because a person is in or touches a cursed thing.

The writer of the book of Proverbs uses these similes to compare what curse does to a person who has no reason to be under its venom.

When you become a Christian, your address is changed to a new address but it is very sad to hear even men of God praying that God should remove generational curse from them.

As a child of God you now have a covering that protect you from whatever cause.

Our commonwealth is in heaven because we are citizens of heaven (Philippians 3Vs20).

If this is true, generational curses are not for the Christians because their addresses have changed.

Causeless the curse shall not abide.

PRAYER: Every arrow of curse shot at me and my household, I send you back to the sender in Jesus name, Amen.

GOD'S UNSTOPPABLE GRACE - JOHN 8VS3-11.

GOLDEN VERSE:
"Moreover the law entered, that the offence might be abounded, grace did much more abound" Romans 5Vs20

EXPOSITORY
When a top executive is charged for corruption or a church minister is caught in the act of adultery, you will probably hear the phrase "fallen from grace" being used of them.

We have come to believe that when someone falls into sin, he falls from grace.

But God wants us to know that when someone falls into sin, he does not fall from grace - he actually falls into grace! Thank God His grace is there to put the person back on his feet and give him the power to have victory over that sin.

The Bible tells of prostitutes and corrupt tax collectors - sinners - who fell into God's grace and got back on their feet.

If the sin in their lives could stop God's grace, they would have never been able to receive His grace of healing, help and power to live right.

Now, it is important you understand that God hates sin because it destroys our lives, relationships and bodies.

Sin is evil! But sin is not overcome by us talking about it and relying on our willpower to overcome it.

It takes God's grace to destroy sin.

In fact, it is when you are under His grace that sin has no dominion over you. (Romans 6Vs14)

It is when you see His grace providing His Son to put away your sins and make you eternally righteous that sin will not dominate you.

The devil will say to you, "You think that you can still expect God's blessings after what you did this morning?"

That is when you must remind yourself that Christ alone is your perfection and righteousness.

All of us have faults. None of us deserve God's blessings.

That is why we plead the grace of God, which is His unearned, unmerited and undeserved favour toward us.

Sin does not and cannot stop God's grace.

If His grace can be cut off by sin, Jesus would never have come to save us because we were all terrible sinners. But praise God, "where sin abounded, grace abounded much more".

PRAYER: Dear Lord, I pray that your grace will be more sufficient to me and my household in Jesus name, Amen.

GOD IS A GIVER, NOT A TAKER - ROMANS 8VS31-37.

GOLDEN VERSE: "He that spared not his own son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things" Romans 8Vs32

EXPOSITORY
Some Christians mistakenly believe that God gives and also takes away.

At funerals, we sometimes hear the minister say, "The Lord giveth, and the Lord taketh. Blessed be the name of the Lord."

I remember an occasion when I was looking at a baby who was suffering from cancer. I heard one of his family members comment, "You cannot be sure what God's will is.

He may or may not heal." What that person meant was that although the Lord had given the parents this baby, He might later take the baby away from them.

Job displayed this very same attitude when he received the news that he had lost his property and children.

Thinking that God was the source of his problems and not knowing that it was actually Satan who had come against him, he said, Read (Job 1Vs21) Such a statement seems to honour God, but in reality, it reveals an erroneous view of our heavenly Father.

As children of God, we know what the Father's will is for us.

He is a giver, not a taker Jesus said, "Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father's good pleasure to give you the kingdom." (Luke 12Vs32)

It is the devil who is the thief. He comes to steal, kill and destroy. But Jesus came to give us life more abundant. (John 10Vs10).

Jesus met every need and healed every sickness brought before Him, and at the cross, He gave His own life.

Never once did He take anything away from the people who came to Him.

Beloved, your heavenly Father wants you to know today that He is the one
who gives you all good things.

And if He has already given us heaven's best-Jesus, "how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

PRAYER: Lord do not allow the devil to take away what you have given me, in Jesus name, Amen.

THE WORD: SHARPER THAN TWO EDGED SWORD - PSALM 119VS100-105.

GOLDEN VERSE: "for the word of God is quick and powerful sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit and of the joint and marrow and is a discerner of the thought and intents of the heart" Hebrews 4Vs12.

EXPOSITORY
Swords in those days are one of the most important weapons of warfare.

Due to its usefulness both in attacking and defending warfare, it must never be blunt but rather sharp.

When sharp, it is very effective and needs very little effort to achieve desired results.

The two-edged sword is better than a single-edge one because it can be used either way in the swinging.

The WORD of God is metaphorically compared to a two-edged sword and found better.

The Bible says it is sharper than the sword It is sharper because no matter how sharp the sword is, it can only cut the flesh or physical things; but it is not effective when the object is the soul and the spirit.

The word, as a sword can also discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart, no creature is hidden before the WORD.

Therefore you need the word to keep you going and growing in life as it can
command positive things into existence and also destroy negative things that are tormenting us.

PRAYER: Let your word be a lamp to my feet and a light to my path in Jesus' name, Amen.
